Durban has been rainy, warm and humid… It’s not as humid as it should be so I’m quite happy about that. That sticky, frizz endured humidity is awesome for holidays, not so much for TV shoots.
I typed that up 2 days ago when I was attempting to write a post, but the hotels WiFi hasn’t worked, so sorry for the lack of blog posts.
I definitely spoke too soon about the weather.
We have been filming at the Mangwanani Spa and a lot of it has been outside… Day 3 of the shoot for Expresso show started off with no rain – just intense humidity that had my make-up needing several dustings of powder to stay put.
After a few hours of humidity, a gale force wind suddenly picked up in preparation for a big storm. Not ideal situations to film in, so it has been quite the adventure. You’ll see some of the behind the scenes pics below.
I have loved every single second… The film crew has been amazing. Tatum, Matanna, Brian and Ganief made the shoots so much fun and they are just so professional. We worked incredibly well together.
I wore some beautiful dresses from Alessia Boutique (I adore the styles and quality) as well as a dress or 2 of my own for the shoots.

It’s raining here, but the show/interview must go on… |
The wind was so crazy and we kept having to wait for a gap where we could do a link…

After we wrapped our 3 days of filming at the Mangwanani spa, we were very kindly offered a 30 minutes, neck, shoulders and head massage. Sheer bliss.
We have also stayed in 2 hotels with some lovely views…
Experienced the Durban night life…
On Day 4 (our last day) we filmed at the gorgeous Oyster Box Hotel… I love it there… the decor is my favourite.
Our set up for the day…
The inserts on Expresso show will be broadcast either in April or June depending on scheduling 🙂
Last night I flew to Johannesburg. I have come up to celebrate my little sisters Engagement Party this Saturday. She flew in from a London business trip this morning and now we are prepping and getting ready. I am giddy with excitement for her and her fiance, Ross (my future brother in law – yay!!)
Happy weekend!
