Whirlwind weekends

I think I still have newspaper residue on my hands and dust in my hair, despite the showers. Moving is NOT for the fainthearted. I packed up the last of my boxes, took down the photo frames, moved all the furniture out and very sadly said goodbye to #19. On to the next adventure. Unpacking my stuff is an even bigger task, but I’m getting there. Slowly.

The weeks seem to be flying by, which is great because I treasure my weekends, even though those whirl by faster than you can say “Happy Hour.”

This past weekend may not have been too exciting, so I thought I’d share my weekend before, when I was in Cape Town.

Ironically, I fly down to Cape Town tonight…I’ll be LIVE on the Expresso Show on Tuesday morning (SABC 3.)  It’s the Top 8 reunion of the previous Top Billing Presenter Search. I blogged about my experience here, Top 14, Top 11 and facing my biggest fear, Top 8 and elimination

I then fly back to Joburg straight after the TV show to make it back in time for my radio show on 2Oceansvibe radio, from Melrose Arch. I will be rushing so much that I may become a blonde blur if you see me 😉

My fingers are sore from the packing, so I’ll let the photo’s tell my story…

I stayed at the gorgeous Protea Fire and Ice hotel, Cape Town in the loft apartment. It is AMAZING, spacious, modern and it felt like home away from home…

Peek a Boo!

I also couldn’t get over how special I felt with the extra attention to detail. They had a robe for me with my nickname…

And all of my favourite things… Toblerone, Vanilla Tea, USN bars anda USN water bottle

Even though the weather was cold and rainy, it is still a beautiful city…

I had meetings at 2Oceansvibe radio and was also a guest on the brilliant Socrates (Sox) show – Sox in The City. It happens every Friday from 3-5pm on www.2ov.fm and I had an absolute blast!

A walk on the Promenade and a sherry to warm up, here >

Sox was DJing at the club, 31 and I had an absolute blast! I think my feet are still sore from dancing… I know my head was very sore the next morning 😉

The next morning…

On Saturday, I was invited to a braai at Graeme and Morgan Smith for the rugby. Everyone is so wonderful and warm. Fantastic people.

The gorgeous Morgan and Sue – just the most lovely gals 😉
Jacques Kallis won a bet and was flaunting it…hilarious!

Sue won the rugby bet! Bravo!

On Sunday I was taken to Franschhoek – it is so quaint and beautiful and even though we dodged the rain and even ran through it, it was the perfect day.

 Lunch was at the stunning:
