Valentines Experience at Camelot & Camissa

They say the way to a man’s heart is through food, and the way to a woman’s heart is through shoes or a spa treatment. OK, so I made up the last part, but I’m pretty sure it’s accurate.

We got to experience the best of both at the V&A Waterfront this week, in the lead up to Valentines Day!

Sox and I have been up to our ears in wedding plans and while it can quickly become stressful, we decided to take a break from it all and indulge our senses.

We arrived at The Table Bay Hotel and went straight to The Camelot Spa, where we greeted by the lovely Victoria who showed us around the facilities.

Bliss.Treatment room at CamelotMirror selfieThe Thalgo facial has marine properties, so to start the facial, my therapist, Astrid, rubbed the cloth that was around my hair and over my ears in such a way, that it made it sound like waves crashing onto the shore. It was incredibly therapeutic and the smell of each product was blissfully relaxing.Thalgo FacialI fell asleep half way through and it was just magical. Exactly what my skin and my body needed. I didn’t want the Indian Head Massage to stop. Astrid poured a mixture of warm coconut oil and Rose and Geranium essential oils all over my head and massaged away! If you’ve never done this before, it’s an absolute must, so don’t be afraid of getting your hair a little oily.

How did Sox enjoy his treatments? It was his first time having a facial and he loved it – I have a sneaky suspicion that this will become a regular occurrence. He loved the pedicure too and has promised he’s going to have them more often.ProductsAfter it was sadly all over, she pulled my hair into an oiled back pony tail and I clipped it into a bun! After a refreshing shower, Sox and I floated over to the Camissa Restaurant – Quintessentially South African, at The Table Bay for a sensory taste experience.

We had the most incredible view of the Vava II yacht, which is owned by the Richest Man in Switzerland and the Richest woman in Britain. It really is a majestic beauty.Vava 2View of the Vava 2Vava 2 yachtPalmSparkling waterFor Valentines Day, Camissa have paired dishes with certain scents. Isnt it strange how most men always kick against spa treatments, and then when you finally get them to go, they love it!

By the way, the new site looks great!
