Being a girly girl means you have no shame in jumping up and down when discovering that Urban Decay is launching in South Africa, the first week of July. There might even be a squeal involved.
Ok, there’s definitely a squeal involved.
I have poured over international YouTube channels and Beauty Blogs and each time I’ve investigated to see what shade a lip colour is, or what make a certain eye shadow is, it has 8 times out of 10, been by Urban Decay.
It is the most successful colour cosmetics in the United States and I am thrilled that it’s now accessible to us here in SA.
However, I was also a little anxious. I’m an Urban Decay Virgin. I’ve never tried the products. What if I / beauty bloggers had hyped this product up so much that I would be disappointed?
There was only one way to find out… Let me start with their Naked Flushed. It’s a bronzer, highlighter and blush that glides on like a silky dream. I love that you can use them individually, or blended. The pigment is amazing too.
Their 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil (Naked 3.) The one side is called Darkside and the other is Blackheart. I can’t decide which is my favourite because I love them both. The Blackheart has a plum glitter that is simply gorgeous. It does exactly as it says, it glides on, the pigment is incredible and if you want to smudge it, you can, otherwise it stays exactly where you put it, until you wash it off. This is awesome. This Naked Lipgloss is in the colour Lovechild and it’s the perfect pink. The wand fits my lips perfectly and it glides on without being too sticky. It also has a slight tingle, which feels really good. Now for the Naked 3 Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette. This is the new palette with 12 new shades that are absolutely gorgeous. They’re rose-hued neutrals and has everything from ultra smooth mattes, pretty pearls and glimmering metallics. The pigments are a dream, they blend beautifully and the colours suit every eye colour and every skin tone. It’s just wow!
My verdict?
I’m the jumping up and down girl, squealing in delight! I am in love!
PS. I’ve filmed a tutorial using these products and I’m just editing. Coming Soon!
PPS. The first stand alone store will be opening in Sandton, JHB in July. For the rest of us, the products will be in selected Stuttafords, but as I get more and more info, I’ll make sure you’re in the beauty loop!
