It’s been a while. Forgive me.
I’ve been crazy busy. I must be honest, it seems that most people always reply: “I’m so busy!” when asked “How are you?”
I don’t want to ever say that for the sake of saying it because it sounds “good”… but the reality is, it’s been a busy time and while I’m grateful for it, I am yearning for a holiday.
I’m trying to consolidate quite a few days of highlight reels into one post, so as usual, it’s quite photo heavy. Make a cup of tea and get those fingers ready to scroll.
We’ll start with food, because, well… food.
I met a friend for breakfast on a cold, Wintry morning… She ordered the breakfast cakes and I ordered the poached eggs with black forest ham and a coriander aioli.Don’t forget to look up in restaurants or you might miss pressed ceilings and chandeliersOne morning, after a funeral, Sox and I headed for a quick bite to eat… Speaking of my husband… he’s a great fan of Snapchat.
Not.We found Banting rusks, that I love dunking into my tea and Sox loves it with his coffee.Cape Town has been beautiful, but we really need some rain. It keeps threatening too, we’ve had a little rain fall, but not much. It’s the first time I’ve experience a dry Cape Town. I can feel it in my skin, my hair, my lips… It’s Joburg dry. I still love CT though and no matter whether the sky is blue or it’s cloudy and moody, it’s beautiful. Work has been fantastic… I MC’d the Enterprise Mauritius Show…
I bought this beautiful book by Garance Doré… it’s so well written…
Last week, I was invited to enjoy a manicure and pedicure at The Heavenly Spa at The Westin. It really was a welcome break from the craziness. If I am completely honest with you, I almost cancelled it purely from a lack of time, but I am so glad I didn’t. It was the hour and a bit break I really needed to recharge. We shouldn’t underestimate it!
You really do feel like you’re in heaven, in more ways than one. You get into the lift and hit the very top floor button – number 19, and up you whizz high into the clouds. The view is pretty breathtaking…
I chose Morgan Taylor’s Tan my Hide for my mani and pedi. I don’t normally match my hands and feet, but I love this colour and it looks good on every skin tone.
You don’t really need to get into a robe for a mani and pedi, but why not enjoy the full experience.
Right, I’m rushing off to a few exciting meetings and then I have my radio show and I still need to do show prep!
I hope you’re having an awesome day and here’s to an excellent week!
See you tomorrow!
