Sunday Crayon Boxes

Sox and I have been something different every Sunday. It’s not something we consciously made a decision to do, but we noticed we’ve been doing it for a little while and so now that we’re aware, we’re aiming to do something different every Sunday.  We’re maximizing our time while we can, before Baby G arrives, when it won’t be so easy to just hop in a car and go. Yes, we often laugh about the hilarious  Michael McIntyre Comedy (those with kids and those without.)

My MIL Dimitra, Sox and I went to Muizenberg and Kalk Bay for the afternoon.

Kalk Bay is a fishing village on the coast of False Bay and is full of quirky restaurants, shops, antique shops and art galleries.

We arrived hungry and decided to eat at Olympia Cafe and Deli. I’ve been here for breakfast before, but never for lunch. We got a table upstairs, away from the main part of the restaurant, which was full.

Take a look at the Chalkboard Menu and choose what you want…

Linguine Di Mare… Mussels in white wine and cream… This was a popular dish and I saw plates of Mussels whizzing past to various tables.

The Yellowtail with herb butter and salad.

After a satisfying lunch, we took a stroll along the Main road. You can find vendors selling their crafts, or go into the quirky stores. We got a take away coffee (decaf for me) and walked along……peering down side streets like these…

You must take a wander through Kalk Bay’s Trading Post Antique store. You can get lost for hours… After our stroll, we headed off to St. James home of the famous colourful beach huts. You walk down a pathway, through a tunnel and out onto a small beach where children are squealing with laughter, splashing in the waves and the colourful beach huts sit like peacocks.

We drove home along Boyes Drive, where you must stop at some of the view points…

I made a 3 minute video of our experience and captured a funny moment at the end – can you hear my squeal as I cross the road?

PS. Video is coming – it only loaded 30 seconds, instead of the 3 minutes, so I have to redo it. Annoying.

OK… It should work now…
