Morning!!

I’ve been bursting to tell you the news… Last week I’d been having a countdown for something that’s beginning TODAY!

In the interim of the countdown, I got to add another piece of news to that!

Let’s go back.

Smile 90.4 FM is a relatively new (2 years old) commercial radio station here in Cape Town and they approached me to join their team! Today I officially co-host the Afternoon Drive with Maurice Carpede. I’ll be ON AIR from 4-6pm, every Monday to Friday!  I am so incredibly excited to be back on commercial radio. I’ll also be able to continue with my digital radio show on 2Oceansvibe Radio, every Monday – Thursday from 12-2pm.

I’ve been counting down…in the Smile blue and yellow colours…

and today I can finally reveal it all!

In the interim, I got a call last week asking if I’d please stand in as a guest presenter on the Expresso Morning show on SABC 3. I’ve been a guest presenter before in terms of presenting pre-recorded inserts, but I’ve never done LIVE TV before and I was so excited but so nervous too!

I have a love/hate relationship with nerves. I love them because I need them… Nerves help me focus, but I hate the feeling of them.

When was the last time you did something for the first time? Well today is a big bunch of firsts for me.

It was my first time using Autocue, first time hearing comms in my ear piece whilst being live and my first full show on TV.

Later today, it will be my first radio show on Smile 90.4 FM and I just can’t stop doing Happy Dances!

I’ve always worked towards this and it’s taken me a long time to get here. It’s been a good reminder to never give up and to keep going, even when there’s been tears and obstacles!

Thank you for all the love and support you’ve shown me. I really appreciate it and here’s to seeing you on Expresso tomorrow morning again and tune in for my first show with Maurice, on Smile 90.4 FM at 4pm.
