On Monday, a few lucky ladies were invited to Scar Hair on Kloof street to experience the latest colour technology by Wella.
Coffee, Tea, Champagne and some delicious eats were set out for us…
We were introduced to Wella Color ID.
I found the whole process fascinating. You know how you can look like you’re trying to make contact with outer space with so much foil in your head, when you have highlights done?
Well no more.
No foils are needed because this new technology ensures the colours don’t bleed into the next. Where you paint the colour is where the colour will stay and they won’t mix. It allows you to play, be creative and there is no more harsh looking separated highlights – it all blends in naturally.
It doesn’t blend together or create a bleeding of colour on your hair |
Hayley from Wella, my hairstylist Flo Neacsu and I chatted about the look we wanted to create and what would suit my skin tone and eyes.
Flo started mixing the colours…
I had taken a few pics and popped them up on Instagram – some were convinced I was adding blue and purple streaks into my hair – which actually would have been fun – but I wasn’t. I had 3 types of blonde painted on – dark, medium and light to create movement and to make it look natural, for example, we applied the light to where the sun would kiss my hair. The violet colours prevent the blonde going orange.
It looked really cool. Again it was amazing to see that Flo would apply the 3 colours and then instead of wrapping up foils he just rolled it the hair up into a funky design and I waited for 15 minutes.
The colour process is much faster, so if you don’t like spending hours at the hairdresser this is going to be the best.
I took a few pics of the other girls whilst their colour was on, but sadly I never got After Photos as we were all rushing.

I asked Sheri Lee to send me a pic of her pastel colours. I love how it turned out.
Here is how my hair turned out…
Wella gave us a goodie box that has got me so excited. We are the first in South Africa to have this product. It’s the SP LuxeOil Reconstructive Elixir. My hair is super dry and the SP LuxeOil collection is all about locking in moisture with their blend of argan, jojoba and almond oils. We received the spray, the hair mask etc and I can’t wait to try the products. Flo has been raving about this product and even told me that it smells so good you don’t need to wear perfume. He is absolutely right.
Thank you so much to Jodi and Flo at Scar and to the team from Wella. I had so much fun and really appreciate the amazing day.
