When you love what you do, you won’t work a day in your life. Radio is in my blood. I love broadcasting. I get a rush every time I switch on that microphone. I love that it’s dynamic and no day is ever the same.
It’s LIVE so anything can happen. There are no do overs… There is no “Cut! Take 2!” It’s exciting.
On Saturday night we had the MTN Radio Awards. It was held at the Sandton Convention Center Ballroom.
My sister, Tandi and I were invited individually, so we decided to go together.

It was amazing to be in a room full of talent, legends and people that I admire, respect, learn from daily and in some cases look at and think “One day when I’m big, I hope to be as great!”
These awards are always great because it recognizes the talent we have and very often take for granted. As cliched and soppy as this may seem, there is so much talent and there can only be one winner, so just to be nominated is special.
This is my second year being nominated and I am humbled. Mark Pilgrim and I were nominated in the category for “Best Afternoon Drive Show.”
Sure, it could have been a little awkward since the show is no longer on air anymore, but Mark and I were looking at it as the cool last accolade for all the hard work we put in over the year.
The MTN Radio Award went to 5FM’s Fresh Drive and I have to say it is well deserving! I’m chuffed for the dude.
A huge congratulations to Mark Pilgrim who did win an MTN Radio Award for Best Music Show for the KIA Take 40 SA chart show he hosts every Saturday.

Speaking of radio, the day has finally arrived and I am SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED. Every cell in my body is tingling.
Today is the start of “The Bailey Schneider Show” on 2Oceansvibe Radio.
I have been working so hard over the past few weeks on the show, the content, the music and so forth.
I’ll be switching on that mic at 2pm today and my first guest is the brilliant Jacques Terre’blanche – we’ll be chatting about his music career, love, life and everything you ordinarily wouldn’t hear.
