My Hair Care Products

I got the sweetest compliment on Instagram about my hair and I told Kati I’d do a blog post about the products that I use.

As a blonde, I’ve really abused my poor hair. My natural hair colour is a darker mousy blonde, so I highlight to brighten it and get it back to the light colour it was as a child.

I also straighten my hair, or curl my hair, so there is a lot of heat damage. Over the past 2 years, I’ve taken my hair from being slightly fried and broken to long and healthy.

I’ve written a blog post on how to get your hair to grow if you want to check that out too.

These are the products I use:

I use Wella’s Hydrate Shampoo and Repair Conditioner. Other times I’ll alternate and use the Repair Shampoo and Hydrate Conditioner.

I love how my hair smells afterwards and it does what it says it will.

For a more affordable option, I recently received the TRESemme Platinum Strength Shampoo, Conditioner and hair mask in a press drop. It claims to repair up to 2 years of damage after using it 5 times. I gave it a test and I have to say, I’m impressed.

My hair feels so much softer, smoother and less damaged.

I don’t use a towel to wrap my hair in or towel dry my hair anymore. I can’t remember where I read it, but I read that towels cause friction and can create frizz and that an old t-shirt is much better. I swopped my hand towel out for an old t-shirt and it’s worked!

Once I’ve squeezed the excess water out, I spray my hair with Sebastian Trilliant. I give it a good shake to mix it…in the photo you’ll see it’s separated.

It’s an excellent heat protecter plus it has shimmer-complex that leaves my hair looking shiny too.

Alternatively, I’ll use Evolutions Blowout Treatment. I’ve written about this before and you can read my full review here: Evolution Keratin Hair Care

I really love Wellas Luxe Oil to smooth over afterwards – a little goes a long way, so it really lasts. You can also use it on wet hair too and it smells wonderful.

I’ve also started washing my hair less. Washing it too often can be damaging and that’s why I love Batiste Dry Shampoo. I love the Tropical one – it’s my favourite and I also really like the Wild one, as photographed here.

I think my best hair trick is doing a coconut oil mask. I’ve written about this before, see here: Nuts for Coconut Oil. I literally section my hair and take coconut oil and slather it all over, ensuring that every strand is coated.  I massage it into my scalp and then pin it up. I’ll put an old t-shirt over my pillow to prevent the pillow case from going greasy and go to sleep. In the morning I do 2 shampoos and 1 condition and my hair feels soft, repaired and shiny.

I have also started taking Biotin, which is excellent for nails and hair, but I must be honest, I am so bad with taking vitamins so I take them one day, forget for three days and so on. I’m naughty.

When I go to the Scar Hair, I always have a treatment and my hairstylist Brittny, mixes Olaplex into my colour to protect my hair too. Read more about Olaplex.

What are you favourite hair products that really work well for you?

PS. This isn’t a sponsored blog post, even though some of these products have been sent to me in the past. I use these daily and have since bought some of the products that initially were sent to me.
