Botox for your Hair

“Botox for hair?” I hear you ask. Let me explain more…

It’s called INOAR G.Hair B-Tox Treatment. It has a lot of Vit C & E and to be fair, it does not consist of any botox, but it has the same effect on hair, as botox has on the face. Admittedly, I’ve never tried botox on my face before, it scares me a little, but I was definitely intrigued by this.

I love that it’s only 30 minutes and its affects last for 4- 6 weeks.

So what does it do?

  • Restores & Hydrates
  • Promotes Hair Growth
  • Strengthens hair
  • Frizz Reduction
  • “Plumps-up” the hair
  • Manageable hair
  • Reduces knots and easily detangles hair
  • Adds Shine

This treatment prolongs the effect of your hair realignment, gets rid of frizz and makes the hair softer. Developed with fatty acids and grape extract, rich in vitamins E, C and beta carotene, it moisturises and recomposes the hair fiber, offering hair realignment from the first use, contributing to healthy hair growth and its strengthening. B-TOX G.Hair ensures smoother and healthier shiny hair. The more often you do it, i.e once every month or 6 weeks, the better your hair will become.

Unlike a Brazilian, there are no chemicals or harsh smells that burn your eyes and nostrils.

Well, I was so intrigued I had to try it. I was invited to receive this treatment.

My hair was so lush during my pregnancy, but the minute I gave birth, my hair started shedding, going frizzy from the anaesthetic and well, it’s been looking so sorry for itself that I’ve been popping it into a Mom bun.

Here is my hair before: It’s very frizzy and quite brittle, making it break off when I brush it.

Step 1:

A hair wash that deep cleans and really gets rid of any build up.

This is the Botox treatment – it smells good too (not chemically or eye watering strong) and I can only describe it as smelling like a luxurious hand cream.

Step 2:

The Botox treatment is applied onto the hair. The scalp is avoided and sadly this treatment does not include a head massage. The idea is not to mess with the product. Simply apply it and let it work it’s magic.

Step 3:

Cling wrap the hair and wait for 30 minutes.

Step 4:

Rinse off.

Step 5:

Style as you wish. I went for sleek and straight for a change from my usual curly waves. I didn’t trim my hair at all, which I know it’s in dire need of, to get rid of the split ends. Even my split ends looked better after the treatment.

The Results?

My hair feels healthier, softer, less damaged and definitely not brittle anymore.  My hair looks more vibrant and shiny too.

After the styling there isn’t one bit of frizz… but I’ll be intrigued to see how it looks once I’ve washed my hair, as I can never style my hair quite as well as the hairdresser can.

I’ve since washed it and found a huge difference in how my hair feels – I find styling my hair easier as my brush just glides through with little breakage. If I choose to leave my hair to air dry, which is normally a no-no thanks to the frizz, I’m happy to report that the frizz is almost non existent! Hooray!

The Verdict:

I’m impressed and definitely think it’s worth adding to your beauty regime. I’ll definitely be back to have this done next month. My hair can only get better and better as each treatment is done, which will be wonderfully strengthening for when I get my colour done.

What you need to know:

  • The treatment can last you between 4 to 6 weeks with the use of sulfate-free hair care products.
  • It won’t damage your colour (in fact I found it made my colour look fresh.)
  • You can use it as a touch-up between Brazilian treatments if you like.
  • The Inoar G.Hair B-Tox is exclusive to INOAR stockists. Prices range from around R700 for short hair to R900 for long hair. For more info, visit www.inoar.co.za, e-mail info@inoar.co.za or phone: 012 346 1721.

I just had a Brasil Cacau done yesterday and got similar results! But the downside is the burning eyes and chemical smell. Please please report back on how long this treatment lasts in your hair! My hair is also so brittle and dry from the bleach that I can barely comb it.
