Styled by Julie Ranzani and Habits Fashion

Julie Ranzani, from Off the Rails and I have worked together before… You can read about my experience here.

Julie is a stylist who really understands how to dress the body – however it comes. South African women especially come in various shapes and we have curves, that we should be proud of.

Julie took me to Habits in Claremont and when I walked in I knew I was going to have a field day. There almost wasn’t one item that I didn’t love. The only thing that made me not choose it, was because it simply didn’t work with my figure.

De Grendel Rosé was chilled and cold water with cucumber and lemon was served, while we started browsing the rails!

I am thrilled the animal print is so big this season. The beautiful thing about animal prints is that it rarely goes out of fashion, but this season it’s IN in a big way!

We paired this leopard print Godet Jacket over black jeans, the black top from their Travel range (more about that later – it’s genius) and the Marian Leather slip on loafers

We then moved onto a pair of blue jeans (they’re the Liverpool Abby Skinny jeans and so comfortable), and tried them with various styles of leopard print tops and Yaya Suede slip-on sneakers. Julie showed me how to change up the outfits by adding jackets, or scarves (around your neck, or on your handbag), shoes etc.

The blazer is from the Travel range and we swopped the slip-on sneakers for Marian Suede & Leather combo ankle boots.

Let’s chat about the Habit’s Travel Range. It’s made in Cape Town and worn all around the world. This tried & tested collection is practical, clever and makes packing for travel so easy – you won’t know how you managed before. Each garment rolls up in a ball, is serious wash & wear, doesn’t need ironing and best of all, skims the body beautifully as its cut to flatter all figures. It’s a truly timeless collection, which means “Buy now and wear forever”. This is a game changer and you can literally mix and match these pieces with 100s of outfits.

So, I felt like Audrey Hepburn in this… Off the shoulder travel range Josie top and the Travel Range Slim skirt. In fact, I wore this for the Smile 90.4 FM Mother’s Day Breakfast. The theme was Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Here it is in snake skin print. Love! You really can mix and match these pieces and wear them so many ways!

I felt so cosy in the next two outfits – bring on the cold, Wintery weather! The minute Julie wrapped the scarf around my neck and I looked in the mirror, I instantly felt like I was ready to walk the streets of New York! I just love this look so much – it’s casual, but sophisticated stylish.

Here’s another take on the look…

Back to the leopard print. This is by far the most amazing show stopping Habits Parka I’ve ever seen. It’s perfect for the wet weather, Cape Town is supposed to have in Winter. Whenever I wear this, people stop me in the streets to ask where I bought it.

After playing dress up and learning more amazing styling tips from Julie (I’ll share these tips in some Style posts I have coming up later this week!), they wrapped up the outfits and I felt giddy with excitement and gratitude that my Winter wardrobe is done! Julie and Habits – thank you for one of the best afternoons and for having the most sensational outfits!  Get in touch with Julie, from Off the Rails – she is wonderful and knowledgeable.

Here’s a video created by Jess, who really captured the fun!
