Road Trip Day 5

After driving through more of the beautiful Western Cape, we arrived in Knysna at 8pm. We were staying in Milkwood Bay Luxury Guesthouse.

On our arrival, oysters, cheese and champagne had been laid out to welcome us. Stunning.

As the guesthouse is so close to the coffee shops and restaurants, we quickly freshened up after the drive and then walked to Cornuti restaurant for dinner.

Sleep came quickly and when I woke up in the morning I was amazed to see exactly where I was. Because we had arrived at night, I hadn’t really seen the view. I stayed in the Ivory Bay room that had a 180 degree view of the Knysna Lagoon, a huge bathroom with jet shower and my very own walk-in wardrobe… cue Sex in the City music.

I did not want to get out of bed with that view, but we had a full day ahead…

FYI… The luxury guesthouse has it’s own heated swimming pool and sauna – bliss.

Breakfast was like a delicious artwork

After breakfast we drove to the Harbour and even though it was a grey day, we took a fantastic boat ride out on the Knysna Lagoon.

We made it back, just in time… as we got indoors, the heavens opened up and it started raining. We weren’t able to do our hike up the Knysna Heads, but that is definitely something I have to do when I return soon.

We drove back, set up for my radio show on 2Oceansvibe Radio and then had lunch with Keegan and Glenda from the Knysna Tourism Board at East Head Cafe. You must try the calamari and chips or the hake and chips. So good.

We did the 2Oceansvibe Radio show -which is always fun. We packed and headed back to Cape Town.

I interviewed: Glenda and Keegan from the Knysna Tourism Board and Clary Starbuck from Milkwood Luxury Guesthouse

I was sad to leave. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and kind… and to experience this for yourself book here. Milkwood also has self catering chalets so there really is something for everyone in the Under Milkwood Collection.

We left Knysna at 15h30 and arrived back in Cape Town at 20h30. We’re staying here and then heading to Paternoster in the morning for the final day of the 2Oceansvibe radio Road Trip Travel show.
