Mama Mio Boobs

Since I started using some Mama Mio products during my pregnancy, I’m in love, and as such I have introduced more of the range to my pregnancy beauty routine.I wrote about the products I’m loving (and have practically finished and need to replenish) here.

We’re friends here, right? I ask this, because I’m going to share things I’d only share with close friends…

Boobs. Boobs in pregnancy.

No one warned me.

Allow me to be that friend and warn you. I hope you don’t mind my no-sugar-coating-honesty either.

I have a funny feeling some of you men clicked on this when you saw the title. However, guys I’d suggest you skip today’s post and come back on Monday. Seriously.

I had friends warn me that they get big and sore and sensitive… but I wasn’t prepared or expecting them to change.

Yes, they are sore and sensitive. I brushed my watch against my nipple when I was undressing one morning and I actually cried tears.

Your nipple size will change. Really. I just remember looking in the mirror before getting in the shower one morning and saying out loud: “What. the. actual. f#@?”

Mommy friends, do they return to their normal size? Oh please tell me they do.

As I stood, naked in the mirror, I inspected more closely. The colour of your nipples will change – they get darker. A friend of mine had mentioned this before but I don’t think it had made sense until it happened.

You will discover blue veins that run through them like like spider webs. Mine are faint, but they’re there. I’ve also noticed a little yellow on the very tip of my nipples, which worried me at first, but it turns out that it’s colostrum (first milk.) See? You learn all these things as you go along. Apparently it’s quite early to have it already, but it’s not uncommon. I hope it’s a good sign.

Your breasts as a whole will get larger and then suddenly look smaller as your belly starts outgrowing them, but now they’re apparently going to get bigger as milk production begins, which could mean stretch marks.

Now that I’ve completely terrified you and grossed you out, don’t waste any time. Get this Mama Mio Pregnancy Boob Tube bust protection cream NOW.

I apply it morning and night and it’s actually very soothing.

Why is it so magical?

It has the powers of antioxidant-rich CoQ10 and Milk Thistle, the lightweight cream strengthens and protects delicate skin, and Organic Rosehip Fruit Oil moisturises and hydrates. Its unique blend of Green Cabbage Leaf Extract and Hibiscus works to reduce swelling and improve elasticity for a smoother, firmer-looking décolleté and bust area. Safe for use during breastfeeding too. Brilliant.

After my last Mama Mio blog post, I got a few of these:

“Bailey, what if I already have stretch marks?”

I hear you… I also have what I call my “Tiger stripes” from weight gain and weight loss. Thankfully, I started using the Mama Mio Tummy Rub Oil from the very beginning of my pregnancy and I’m grateful to not have any stretch marks on my pregnant belly *touch wood.*

So, what do we do for those “tiger stripes?” Mama Mio Goodbye Stretch Marks. It helps to minimize them and help fade the appearance of existing stretch marks over time.  I’ve started applying this to my old ones and I’ll have to get back to you with how they’re doing.

Your nipples don’t really go back to the way they were 🙂 they change cookout and get bigger so baby can see them better but believe me, you want them bigger as breastfeeding is easier then 🙂

Oh no Amy, I’ve had mixed views now. Some say they don’t and others say the nipples do go back to normal! Eek!
At the end of the day, it’s no point in worrying about something cosmetic… I just hope I’m able to breastfeed! Thanks for reading and for leaving me your comment – really appreciate it x

Hi Bailey. No one warned me either and it was the worst thing about my pregnancy. I also couldn’t find any bras which helped to lift and shape them while still being comfortable. I have good news though, they do shrink back in size. Even though I am still breastfeeding my 15 month old, I have been able to wear my normal size bras for the last few months. There is nothing better than maternity bras when they are that big. You just need to be careful what tops you wear with them. It’s all worth it in the end! Enjoy the rest of ur pregnancy.

      Hi Yolanda,
I bought maternity bras from early, because that I was warned about, so I’ve just been living in those and a bigger size. Thank goodness Maternity Bras aren’t so ugly anymore… I’ve found mine at H&M and Cotton On have pretty lace ones.
At the end of the day, the cosmetic side of it really isn’t that important, I just had a laugh when I started writing this because I was like: Hang on, no one really told me about this, other than: They get sore and big. I wanted to share honestly – hehehe! I just hope I’ll be able to breastfeed and express properly!
Thanks for sharing with me – I really appreciate it! x
