Make your own Almond Butter

The NutriBullet extracts all fresh ingredients’ goodness into it’s most nutritious, absorptive state, turning our food into superfood. Juicing can remove the fibres and blending can leave behind chunks… this is just so much better. This little bullet is so powerful it busts open seeds, cracks through stems, and shreds tough skin.

It comes with an extractor blade and a milling blade, 1 tall cup and lid and 2 short cups and lids, a recipe book in case you need some inspiration.

I’ve shown you just some of my favourite recipes (Coco Berry Bulletmy Green juice and my Happiness Milkshake with you under the recipe section on my blog) I make using the Nutribullet – juices, milkshakes and smoothies using the extractor blade.

I haven’t shown you what I use the milling blade for. I normally grind up flax seeds for carb free bread. Today I want to show you how to make your own Almond Butter.

I am a big fun of peanut butter, but since I’ve started Banting, peanuts and peanut butter are out. I’ve discovered a new addiction of almond butter, macadamia nut butter and I’m hooked. The only thing I’m not hooked on is the price. It’s much cheaper to make your own.

Ingredients:

Raw Almonds (dry)

Coconut oil

1 small drizzle of honey (a teaspoon is enough)

Pour your dry raw almonds into the cup (never exceeding the maximum line) and start to mill.

The almonds will start to release their oil naturally and the milling blade really knows how to extract it.

Once the almonds are in a dough consistency, add the coconut oil and honey and blend again.

The coconut oil will really help churn the almond butter into a creamy texture.

You can adjust this recipe to any nut you’d like or even mix the nuts. Go wild.

Place into a jar, label and enjoy.

Spread onto carb free bread/seed crackers or simply eat by the spoon fill.
