I had written up a beautiful post, uploaded photos and was just about to hit the Publish button, when a little inner voice told me to pause. I asked my sister if she minded that I blog about her engagement party and she has asked me not to purely because she wants it to remain personal and special for those who were there.
It’s funny because I was automatically going to share everything, as I always do here on Vanilla Blonde, but I’m glad I asked her because at the end of the day I have absolute respect for my family.
I have, however, been allowed to show a few pictures and I have to say Ross and Tandi’s engagement party was so special.
My mom and dad hosted the party at their home and we were so grateful that the sun came out that day – a first in weeks, apparently. I’ve seen all the Facebook and Twitter statuses about the relentless rain in Johannesburg. Luckily it held off, which was fantastic since the party was being held outside.
I had flown up from my trip in Durban and Sox flew in from Cape Town on Saturday. I’m really thrilled we could be there to celebrate their moment.
Tandi and Ross I am so incredibly happy for you and excited for both of you. Ross, my future brother in law, I can’t wait to have you as the brother I never had.

Obviously I am always happy when I return to Joburg to see this boy… The angle of these photos make Duke look MASSIVE!!
We were in the car on the way to the Vet for his annual innoculations.
Sox and I returned early early early on Sunday morning, after only a few hours of sleep…
It feels good to be back in Cape Town… Back in the swing of things and ready for the next adventure…
