I had the wonderful opportunity of celebrating Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore’s 2nd Birthday Party. My show on 2Oceansvibe Radio broadcast live from the event and it was a night that I will remember for a very long time.
The night before the event, they generously offered me a gorgeous room so that I could experience what staying at the hotel was like. I was so excited and so blown away at the attention to detail. On arriving there was a bottle of wine chilled and waiting, vanilla tea bags and a beautiful gift of Charlotte Rhys Vanilla Cream goodies.
Our room was so spacious with a lounge area, balcony and the most comfortable bed. I could have slept for days.

The following morning we headed down to the breakfast area and enjoyed the delicious buffet. Crispy bacon for the win!
After breakfast we packed up and were at reception waiting to check out when I saw the GM, Jim and the team. He looked confused and asked why we were checking out.
It turns out that I had misunderstood. I thought we were staying one night only, but they had very kindly offered us 2 nights, saying that we couldn’t go home after the awesome party and broadcast. Spoilt!
Later that afternoon, when I returned back to my hotel room to get ready, this was on the TV screen and it got me even more excited for the show:
We had meetings months in advance and decided to wait for Summer to host the party on the gorgeous Sunroof Terrace that has the best view of Table Mountain.
Cape Town can be so unpredictable with the weather and I now understand what people mean when they say there can be 4 seasons in 1 day.
Last Thursday happened to be particularly windy and we were all coaxing Mother Nature to be nice and tame the wind. She wasn’t having it.
Luckily a call was made and they draped some of the roof so that we wouldn’t blow away – although that would have made for interesting radio!
The wind was absolutely relentless, but it didn’t kill the mood at all. Champagne and cocktails were flying (and I don’t mean thanks to the wind.)
I got to meet some of the awesome Vanilla Blonde winners – you guys are so special.
Thanks so much to Chelsea and Sam for the sweet gift of Vanilla tea and hand cream
I interviewed the General Manager, Jim Schleich who was such a natural on air. Love his accent.
I also interviewed Executive Chef Morne Botha who was just hilarious! He also had amazing stats like the hotel goes through 450 eggs a day, 21litres of yoghurt a day and so on. They are also really green and everything gets recycled.
It makes sense that the hotel has won The Most Ethical Business Award for 4 consecutive years.
We gave away incredible prizes like Meze Platters for 2 with a bottle of wine, lunches at the RBG Restaurant, Breakfast Buffets, nights stay at the Park Inn and a weekend away at the Park Inn.
I had so much fun.
My friends came to the party too and it was such a blast!

I can’t believe it’s all over. I’m so sad, but I have no doubt that this is just the start of something wonderful. I was made to feel like I am a part of the Park Inn team/family and I can’t wait for the next event.
I wrote this email to the team at 2Oceansvibe radio and Park Inn:
Dear Park Inn and 2OV team.
I would like to personally thank you for the amazing experience I had working with you and your team. The professionalism and hard work from every single person I encountered was outstanding.
Everyone at Park Inn has such passion. They take such care in their job and you can’t train that. No wonder you have such a successful group – it really stands out.
My stay at Park Inn was amazing – I didn’t want to leave and as for the OB and Party on Thursday night – it was a night to remember for a very long time. Not even the wind could put a dampener on things. It has been wonderful to receive such great feedback in emails and social media from guests who were at the party – WINNING!
I’m sad that the event has come to an end, only because I really enjoyed working with you and felt like you made me a part of the family.
I hope we get the opportunity to work again in the near future.
Brendon and Liza – you guys are just wonderful, brilliant and hilarious.
Jim – you are by far one of the best GMs I have ever encountered and it shows in your happy staff. You are also a great natural on air, so thank you for the great interview.
Morne – the meal you prepared was (what did I say on air? – Orgasmic) and you have a great talent. Thanks for the fun interview.
Rhys and Ross – thanks for the awesome OB and for all your support and hard work.
Dean – Thanks for facilitating and starting this wonderful new friendship between 2Oceansvibe Radio and Park Inn.
Thank you again for such a special experience.
Bailey
