Dear stranger who paid me a random act of kindness, you really made me feel good and feel good about humanity. It was such a small act, but it left such an impression on me. I had a big preggy brain moment:
I was at the store, buying 2 bottles of water and thought I had enough cash… It turned out I didn’t. I asked the attendant to please put one of the waters back as I only had enough for the one. A kind black man who was behind me, saw the situation and gave me the coins for the second bottle of water. I initially said: “Oh please don’t worry!” but he insisted and it made my whole day. Now I look forward to paying it forward too.
Dear Baby G. We’ve been together for 31 weeks today! I found out about you, when you were the size of a Poppy seed. Now you’re the size of a basketball. I never thought I could be as madly in love with someone I haven’t met yet… but every kick and movement in my ever growing belly makes my heart swell! I can’t help wondering what you’re going to look like, what your personality will be like and I’m so honored that you’re making me a Mom! Just please keep baking Baby G – don’t come too soon!
Dear Sox, gosh I must have done something right to have you in my life. Thank you for making suppers, for ensuring I’m always comfortable, which is pretty impossible now (especially with this F#@!ing Fibroid), for the back rubs and for being so excited about our little boy! The way you smile and have this little giggle, when your hand is on my belly and you feel him kick or roll… I melt. You’re already an amazing Father and I know this seems all gushy, possibly even eye-roll-inducing, but it’s honest and I appreciate you.
Dear 3 door MINI Cooper. It’s time. I’m sad, but I’ve outgrown you now and need to move onto a 5 door car – a car that is small enough for our ridiculous parking space in Cape Town but big enough for a pram. I’m still looking in the MINI range though but just bigger!
Dear Nursery, I’m so excited for the Compactum to arrive from Kids Emporium tomorrow. We had it custom made and it’s a wonderful gift from my Mom and Dad! On Monday, we washed all the baby clothes in preparation of packing them away and getting them. It was such a reality check seeing tiny little baby onesies, littles vests, tiny socks and beautiful blankets hanging on the wash line.
This weekend I’ll be packing everything away, getting it all ready and finally packing my hospital bag and Baby G’s bag (in case.) Would you be keen to see a video on what I’m packing in the bags? Let me know in a comment.

May 4, 2017 at 8:36 amNow I had to go Google – “How Many Weeks is a Pregnancy?” Seems you still have some weeks to go. All the best!
May 4, 2017 at 8:41 amThanks Wayne… Not sure if you read the Baby G update… but with a bit of a complication, we are hoping to get Baby G to 34 weeks (3 weeks time) and each week after will be a bonus. I am still hoping for the baby to come at 38 weeks with C-section. 40 weeks is only if you do natural!
May 4, 2017 at 11:11 amPleeeeeease I am 18 weeks pregnant and need some serious direction, I’ve been loving your blogs on Baby G xx
May 4, 2017 at 8:42 amAh, I remember being so emotional when we first washed our little boy’s clothes and I saw them hanging on the line… And in 4 months he will be two!
All the best going forward and I hope Baby G keeps baking for as long as he needs. Enjoy these moments – they are so special and are ones you will never forget.

May 4, 2017 at 10:25 amHahaha ~ this made me laugh. I too had a 3 Door Mini Cooper (my beloved Sheldon) that I had to trade. I took over Paul’s golf and use’s one of his fleet cars which has worked for the best so far. But post home renovation (I was pregnant for less time than this reno has taken) Mamma & Matthew are getting some new wheels! So glad to hear Baby G is still baking. Stay safe you 2 x
May 4, 2017 at 11:24 amSuch an exciting time ahead!!! Praying for you and Baby G x
May 4, 2017 at 1:42 pmOoohh please do a video to show us what you are packing:)
May 4, 2017 at 2:02 pmAs always, love reading your blog!
May 4, 2017 at 5:35 pmSo I’ve had x3 Minis & each time I upgrade I’ve gone bigger & bigger. In making your decision of next car, give the Mini Countryman a try. That’s what I’ve got now and it’s really big! Two door, big boot. (Unsure about pram though). I suspect you’d be a cool mom regardless of car you go for!
All the best with your last few weeks of pregnancy. You are all in my thoughts and prayers 🙂 xx
