On an icy day in June, I drove the windy roads out to Hout Bay. I arrived at the most magnificent home with a beautiful view and met the team from Balanced Life.
It’s a magazine with TFG (The Foschini Group) and if you’re a member, you subscribe and receive the magazine.
We were shooting the cover for the September issue, which meant the Spring issue! I was in my element with all the pretty pastel colours (a lovely break in the middle of Winter) and of course the amazing make-up artist and hair stylist, Sebastine Pepler, was going to braid my hair – my favourite!
To give you an idea of some BTS (Behind The Scenes)…
Inside we had the fire going and I sat with a thick blanket around me. I had to brace myself for when it was time to shoot – outside. I dropped the blanket and we took the shots – I had to make sure I didn’t look too cold or have that frozen look on my face. It was so icy and I couldn’t stop shivering.
I don’t know how these models do it! Did you know that a majority of swimsuit shoots are done in Winter? They always look so fresh coming out of the Arctic water as if it’s like Tropical bath water.
Gareth van Nelson was the talented photographer and I absolutely love the photographs…
Regardless of the cold, I had such fun! I loved changing into the different outfits, having my make-up done, my hair curled and braided with little flowers. It was magic.
The team was absolutely phenomenal – so professional, full of fun and it was one of those days you just didn’t want to end.

Here is the September 2015 Cover…
The lovely Heather Ingarfield interviewed me over a smoothie one morning, and you can read all about it in the honest 2 page interview and article. Here are the photographs in the article.
Thank you so much for having me on your cover and for featuring me in an article!
