This has been an absolute game changer in my pregnancy. I don’t know how to express how much I love this pillow and how much comfort it brings me, but I’m going to try my best!
To pregnancy pillow or not to pregnancy pillow, that was the question. Some girls told me to just stick another pillow between my legs while I sleep on my side, but I found that incredibly uncomfortable. Others told me that their pregnancy pillows became their saving grace.
I started searching for pregnancy pillows and looked at several different ones. When I discovered the Cuddle-Up Pregnancy Pillow from Granny Goose, I wanted to not only dive into the picture on their website and cuddle it straight away (go look, you’ll see what I mean), but on feeling it, I knew I had found the one.
To be honest, Sox is a little jealous. I can’t blame him. I sigh with happiness when I climb into bed and hug it, cuddling it by wrapping my leg over and snuggling in.
Today I am exactly 20 weeks… Half way! I can hardly believe it! I love this pillow because it supports my ever-growing bump…
…and reminds me to sleep on my side. I am a fetal position sleeper to start, but I often find myself on my back, which you shouldn’t really do in pregnancy, so this is a lovely, cuddly reminder.
There is a lot of thought, love and care that has gone into this pillow. The L-shape is filled with their medium firm Duck Down & Feather filling which gives the ideal support for pregnant ladies and tired backs (not just pregnancy.) The pillow is supplied with a 100% cotton pillowcase in white or cream. Extra pillowcases are also available if you need. The short end of the L acts as a pillow for my head and the long side of the pillow fits along my whole body, so I can wrap a leg over and cuddle it. Bliss.
Down and feather filling is a more economical option. The blend of 70% Down with small soft feathers make the duvets/pillows slightly heavier than the pure down options, which I love in a pillow, especially one for support.
“Oh but Bailey, what about the allergies?” I hear you ask… Well, contrary to popular belief, genuine allergies to down are not very common although they can occur. Most allergies attributed to down actually come from dust and dust mites.
All Granny Goose natural fill products are triple de-dusted as part of the exhaustive cleaning process. This coupled with the use of a tightly woven cotton down proof fabric prevents the dust mites from entering the casing. Clever Granny Goose!
You also know that I do my utmost best to use products that are ethical. The natural materials used for crafting Granny Goose products are ethically sourced according to IDFB standards (International Down and Feather Bureaux – of which Granny Goose is a member.)
I’ve found so many amazing uses for this pillow… Not only has it done it’s obvious job of improving my sleep and relieving some aches and pains, but it’s also acted as a pillow that I rest across my lap, perfect for when I work in bed on my laptop. Where do you think I’m writing this blog post right now?
It’s lovely and comfortable to rest up against when I’m sitting up or just rested across my lap with a cup of tea.
