Life Lately

I recently celebrated 3 years on 2Oceansvibe Radio. I cannot believe it. The cliche of time flying when you’re having fun is definitely true.

Last week I was back on the Expresso Show to talk about Blow the Whistle with Legacy Lifestyle. I’m a proud ambassador of this anti-crime initiative and I really urge you to download the free mobile app: Blow the Whistle… You can put in up to 4 guardians (loved ones) in the app and there is a Panic Button, so if you in trouble, you can press it and a text will be sent with your location. You can read up more on the app and it’s many features.

Anyway, Ryan Botha and Chaz showed everyone some self defence moves.

I still personally believe whole heartedly that Women Inpowered is the best.

Bernice, hair and make-up created this lovely hairstyle… pity no one saw it on camera though, but I got lovely compliments throughout the day.

I had 3 minutes to get out of my gym gear and into my pastel pink dress for the interview and then another few minutes to get back into my gym gear for the second demonstration. I was a blonde blur running around set.

I always love the view from Expresso…

In other news I saw the most beautiful rainbow. I have been a little anxious/excited/nervous anticipation about a few things that I will hopefully be able to share soon enough, and as soon as I saw it, I just knew everything was going to be just fine. Rainbows always pop into my life at the most amazing times.

I’ve discovered a new breakfast at Hardpressed Cafe. It’s called the Alicia Moooore (with 4 o’s) and it’s scrambled eggs, fresh spring onions and pink salmon. I hold the toast.

It’s definitely Autumn here – the sun is setting by 18h30 these days, it’s also rising later. The leaves have turned beautiful shades of orange, red and gold, my blankets are out and I hardly leave the house without a jacket.

However, this weekend felt like it might have been one of the last few Summery weekends.

Our good friend, Alon invited us onto his boat. We went out to see the Queen Mary 2 up close.

My fiancé (it never gets old)

It was definitely windy out…

I also don’t know what I was going here…

I finally managed to get to the beach. I needed a good dose of Vitamin D.

On Saturday, Sox and I headed to Cafe Caprice for a burger in the sunshine. We watched these amazing guys.

We also watched a little of the soccer match being played.

On Sunday we headed out to Constantia Uitsig for Constantia Taste. It was the perfect day out in the sunshine.

I attacked the Pork Belly and crackling…

Sox felt like something light. The fresh black forest ham kebabs with parmesan cheese, rocket, melon, olive oil and balsamico.

Disclaimer: These are not ours, but they looked so funny just lying abandoned on the grass.

Yesterday afternoon I headed to the most beautiful hotel – the Twelve Apostles Hotel. The view is just magnificent.

I was presenting an inspiring insert for the Expresso show. Surf Laundry had a Dazzling in White, Women in White event. Jo-Ann Strauss was the MC and the event honoured women with a voice. Not just any voice… a voice that is used to inspire, mentor and help other women. Our media women are some of the most incredible people…they get to “talk” to millions of us every day when we pick up a publication and so on! As women, we need to help one another, motivate and inspire one another and the event was all about that!

You’ll be able to watch more next week on the Expresso Show, SABC 3.

On my way out… I stopped for a mirror selfie. In my hand I have a dazzling white box that holds a Black Coffee designed White Dress. I’ll wear it, take a photo, share my story and then I’ll be handing the white dress on to a woman who inspires me, so that she can wear the dress, share her story and hand it on too. It’s like the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.

I LOVE the idea and can’t wait to share more soon!

Right… I’m off to have some EXCITING meetings and do show prep for my radio show. I hope you’ll join me today from 12-2pm on
