I adore Cape Town and I really can’t explain it… I always feel at home when I’m there, which is odd since I’ve never spent more than a few days at a time in the city and I’ve only been there a few times.

It just has an energy that I can’t explain, but I feel it and I love it.

It doesn’t matter where you look, there is such beauty. It’s also the first time I’ve ever been to Cape Town in winter. The weather is bizarre. One minute the sun is shining, the next minute it’s pouring with rain…and even though it was freezing and windy, it was still gorgeous.

My great friend Susana Kennedy moved down to Bantry Bay 8 months ago and I stayed with her over the weekend. She has such a gorgeous apartment, with a 180 degree view of the ocean. In fact, I felt like you experienced different places all in one. At first it felt like I was in “New York” walking into the lobby of her apartment, complete with doorman. You then enter the spacious apartment and it overlooks tennis courts so you feel like you’re watching “Wimbledon” and then it feels like you’re in “LA” with the ocean. Magic.

I had such fun catching up with friends, exploring, doing my photography and I partied – something I haven’t done much of this year.

My weekend went something like this…

Coffee at the Loading Bay near 2Oceansvibe Radio with Dean and Susana. We saw a gorgeous rainbow.

I visited the Cape Town 2Oceansvibe Radio studio’s and met everyone there. Susana and I even made guest appearances on the Sox in The City show.

We partied Friday night away at a number of places… The Fat Cactus, & Union, Ching Ching, Clarks and then we went to 31. Apparently I needed to experience as much as I could 🙂

I had a very sore head the next day. I haven’t had a party like that in a very long time.

On Saturday morning Susana, Kiki (Susana’s sister) and I went to The Old Biscuit Mill. I’ve always heard people rave about it, but I’ve never been.

We then took a slow drive up Signal Hill and stopped at all the look out points and had some fun with my camera…

The rest of Susana’s family arrived from Jozi… On Saturday night I had dinner with The Kennedy’s at The Duchess of Wisbeach.

Our table had a little Bulldog on it…How funny? It made me really miss my Duke. My mom, who was puppy sitting, kept emailing me pictures of Duke curled up at home. So cute.

After dinner, we were supposed to go out for a drink, but I was so exhausted. We went back home and I fell asleep on the couch, while they all drank red wine. Sorry guys.

On Sunday morning Guy McDonald and Liezel van der Westhuizen picked me up and we went through to The Hout Bay Market.

I FINALLY GOT MY WAFFLE!! After 3 months of craving one…

 I love these… Susana bought me the word “HOPE” … It’s very sentimental.

I said good bye to everyone and Susana took me to the airport. I was so sad to leave, but I’m already planning my next trip back to CT.
