Christmas at The Schneider’s

I had such a special Christmas with my family and Duke.

On Christmas Eve, my sister had this brilliant idea to do a Swiss Fondue Chinoise… We all sat around the table, enjoying the food, catching up and spending quality time together.

Duke also got into the Christmas spirit…

My sister finished icing the Christmas cookies she baked – isn’t she brilliant?

On Christmas morning, we woke up to a beautiful hot Summer’s day… We sat under the Christmas tree, opened the thoughtful gifts (utterly spoilt) and even Duke got to open his gifts – he was spoilt with new toys and a new bed. He is just too adorable for words…

Duke’s grin that melts my heart

After the gift opening, my mom and I got busy in the kitchen. The 2 of us cooked Christmas lunch, which happens to be my favourite meal of the year. There is nothing better than gammon, stuffed cornish hen, vegetables, roast potatoes and gravy, and then the christmas puddings, trifle and of course Stollen and Liebkuchen.

I made my “Bailey’s Summer Salad” for starters (Rocket, watermelon, olives, feta, parma ham and my homemade honey mustard dressing you lightly drizzle over) – it is so light and wets the appetite to get you ready for the main course.

Duke made sure he was in the right spot…in the kitchen, lying by our feet

 We also decorated the table…

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and celebrated Jesus’ birthday with love, peace and family.
