It’s been CRAZY lately and obviously my body is a little run down so I am sick. I don’t do sick very well. Just feel horrible and feel like my head isn’t attached to my body and that it’s stuffed with cotton wool.
I’m drinking my ginger, lemon and honey tea (see here), taking Olive Leaf Extract, Corenza C, Viral Guard, Vita-Aid’s pH Balance and other cold/flu meds… but at the end of the day it’s just going to take rest. Something I sadly don’t have at the moment.
My boyfriends Dad has been in hospital so when I am not working, I’ve been there. Obviously on Sunday I spent the full day in bed nursing myself because I didn’t want to give him my cold.
I spent the day catching up on emails, painting my nails and I watched the first season of Nashville – my new favourite TV show.
Last week I went to Rihanna, courtesy of 4th Street Wines. They absolutely outdid themselves in the decor, the catering and the experience. I loved it and the goody bag they gave us was just so generous with Rihanna’s album, fragrance, a bottle of delicious 4th Street Wine, a USB and a Grazia magazine.
I’ll be honest. I thought Rihanna was bad. I was so disappointed in her lack of outfit changes, the quality of sound was terrible – unless you’re on the field by the speakers (or speakers are facing you) it sounded muffled, the fact that the big screens were 2 seconds out of sync with what was happening on stage and her taking 30 minutes to really get into it and play the songs/hits we know. She redeemed herself a little when she sang “Stay” – I thought that was beautiful.
With all of that said, I am glad that I saw her.
I had such a good time in the suite though and I’m so grateful for the experience! I’m a new fan of 4th Street Wines and they totally made the night!
Such gorgeous decor |
Amazing to catch up with the girls 🙂
In shopping news – I got these Ray Ban glasses from Sunglass Hut and I adore them. Perfect for Summer.
I also had Rouxmia on my radio show about her gorgeous jewellery line Romeo Foxtrot… These were the ones I bought:
And she very generously gave me these as a “Thank you”:
In other news I’m a on a serious health kick – yes, this cold isn’t helping.
I may not be able to go to Sweat 1000 right now until I’m better, but I can certainly watch what I’m eating.
I’m eating lots of fresh fruit and veges, lean protein. I’ve cut out sugar, alcohol and bad carbs. It’s not as easy and I’m really trying to get my cravings under control. BUT, I’m determined to take my body to a new level.
I still haven’t done my blog post yet – I’m procrastinating because I know that it’s going to be quite a vulnerable post.
In other news, Cape Town’s sunsets are just spectacular and the sun is setting after 7pm. Bring on Summer.
Last night was a good friend, Yaron’s birthday – he makes me feel old! Happy 25th Birthday Yari!
This is what I had for dessert – so HARD to say NO to sweets.
