Good morning from Plettenberg Bay!
Sox and I left on Monday afternoon and arrived in George for the night. We packed my MINI Cooper and I drove for a bit and then Sox took over for a bit. Every time we drive that route, I’m reminded of how exceptionally beautiful South Africa truly is. It was difficult to capture everything when we were driving but I managed a few…
It was beautiful to see the moon lighting up the landscape…
We stayed at a good friend Pano’s hotel, the Protea Outeniqua in George for the night before heading to Plett yesterday morning.
I don’t know what it is about hotel beds, but I always have the best sleeps! Re-energized and refuelled with a delicious hotel breakfast, we hit the road again.
We arrived in Plett an hour later and drove straight to Kalu House. This is my happy place – I swear it’s like the minute you drive through the gates, you leave any worries behind and feel yourself slip into a deep relaxation. We do this trip every time our friends Mike and Miranda are here from Barcelona and get to stay in their ridiculously beautiful home. It’s like walking into a real life Pinterest Board.
We quickly changed into our swimwear and nestled into our place at the pool for tanning, swimming and reading.

It’s amazing how quickly an appetite can build when you’re in the sun and fresh air…
Tea was served a little later on…
I sipped my tea and left the cupcakes behind by slipping away to take more photos of the incredible Kalu House…

After more afternoon swims, we headed upstairs to the fire pit and the bar for a sundowner and eventually to have a braai (BBQ)…
After a delicious meal, we headed back to the fire to be hypnotized by the dancing flames…
We headed off to bed for a good night sleep and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was far away in dreamland
I’ve woken up to a gorgeous sunny, blue sky day…
I’m having a quick breakfast of coffee, my home made nut granola and some fresh mango and berries and of course – blogging!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, it’s time to explore the Plett beaches…
