I was invited to the Pandora Jewelry breakfast launch this morning. It was very special because it was the first launch in South Africa and on the African continent.

I forgot my camera – very very unlike me. Thank goodness for Blackberry, but please forgive the quality…

The venue, Summer Place, was perfect for the occasion as it is so luxurious and beautiful.

Cappuccino’s were supplied as we looked at the jewelry show cased. I am familiar with the range but thought Pandora was purely charms and charm bracelets… I was very wrong. The necklaces and watches are amazing and the rings are just wow – I love that you can stack the rings too. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are the biggest jewelry company in the world.

I met the team from Pandora and the first thing that struck me was how passionate they are about the brand… Klaus, the MD of Pandora is from Denmark and he spoke about the brand and how they are moving forward… Very excited for the new concept stores to open, plus they’re teaming up with Edcon, so accessibility will be even better from the 1st of July 2011.

The charms and bracelets are based on “Unforgettable Moments”

I love that a charm can symbolize a significant moment in your life. I am a very sentimental person so this is something that I adore. You can wear your life story on your arm and it’s beautiful. It’s the type of thing I’d create and pass on to my “daughter” one day.

Amor Vittone was the celebrity who created a bracelet based on her unforgettable moments. I had a lump in my throat as she gave her speech and went through why she had chosen the charms she had and the stories behind them. Her character, her energy, her positivity and her strength really touched me. I could relate to a lot of what she was saying and she gave me goosebumps. I have the utmost respect for her – what an incredible woman.

We received beautiful gift bags afterwards with a bracelet. I am very excited to start creating and building my own Pandora charm bracelet…

The first charm I have to get is the sunshine/sunflower charm… it’s so beautiful and what can I say? Little Miss Sunshine needs it.
