Mom and I in Cape Town

I have been loving spending time with my mom.

The last time mom was in Cape Town was either in 2007 or 2009 (she can’t remember) – either way, it was a long time ago.

A highlight for me, was taking mom up Table Mountain for her very first time. She has tried 3 times before in the past, but due to weather conditions or it being closed, it never happened.

She was like a little girl on Christmas morning. I loved her gasps and her: “Oooh look there!” and “Look at that! Oh wow!”

The 2 of us have had a blast with our cameras…

We went to Richard’s Stage for dinner and a show! I didn’t know what to expect and it was absolutely amazing! The food was incredible and I was so entertained!

We took a spin on the Wheel of Excellence at the V & A Waterfront – amazing to see the mountain and the harbour.

We have taken walks on the beach, had lunch on the beach, watched sunsets and explored…

Yesterday we traveled to Hout Bay market and then up Chapman’s Peak. It was truly breathtaking. As we came around the one bend, we both gasped at exactly the same time and then laughed. Monkey’s Valley was in view and it was superb! It was amazing how quickly the weather changed. It was a perfect, clear blue sky one minute and the next minute this ominous band of cloud came in so fast – it was eerie!

We were so surprised by this band of cloud looming closer and closer… I have never seen anything like it before. We went down to the Promenade to take more photos…
