Marie Claire and Clarins Beauty Spotlights

Marie Claire and Clarins chose me as one of their four “it girls.”

What an honour!

About a month ago,  I flew up to Johannesburg to be a part of the Clarins Spotlight campaign where we got to divulge in beauty and make-up secrets. We got the opportunity to try Clarins’ flawless foundations and make-up products.

We were being styled, photographed, filmed and it was one of my favourite days getting to work with such professionals who were so friendly, warm and full of fun.

Our location was the gorgeous Le Chatalet and we were given the Presidential suite to play in.

I loved the mood board, the colours and of course the clothes and shoes.

I wore a pair of heels that cost R11 990. On all shoots, masking tape is placed onto the heels and soles so that they aren’t scuffed when walking.

The four “it girls” are: Zakeeya Patel (actress and Strictly Come Dancing winner), Mathahle Stofile (Marie Claire Beauty Editor) and Lorinda Voges (Publicist and business owner) and myself the Radio Presenter and media owner.

We did our first part of the video with no make-up or hair (au natural – eek) and then we went through the process of skin care and beauty. We had our hair done (I had my beloved braid and curls), we were styled and then we had the photo shoot.

The videos really capture the fun we had.

The first video is the Behind the Scenes (I am so goofy) and the second video is my actual segment. My boyfriend commented that he loves my “bubbly nerdiness”… LOL.

Our final shoot will appear in the December issue of Marie Claire. I can’t wait to see how it all turned out 😉

I just want to thank Romy Heldsinger, Bronwen Olivier and the rest of the Marie Claire and Clarins team for being such superstars and for choosing me for this incredible opportunity. I loved every moment.
