I bet you’re the person who is so busy taking care of everyone around you, from your colleagues, clients and business needs, to your families and friends needs. I bet that you’re left with very little to no time to actually indulge in something for you, something you would love to do.
“If you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be strong enough to take care of others.”
Clichés – they’re annoying because they’re true and we know it!
If you’re like me, you probably feel guilty taking time out for yourself and find it hard to switch off and not run through the 100 to-do lists in your mind.
I’ve experienced more often than not, that when I don’t take care of myself, it has a spiral effect. I now see me-time as a necessity and a welcome gift to myself and not as a guilty moment.
I have been going to Loveit Spa for my facials and a massage once a month and it has been the treat I’ve needed. To be fair, there have often been times when I’ve had to reschedule and reschedule to try and make time in my schedule (sorry Candice!!), but when I have got it right, it’s been pure bliss.
I always love going to see Candice (in my feature image), who is a ray of sunshine. Loveit Spa is her passion – it’s her baby! She has poured her heart into the spa and it’s tangible! Her attention to detail is amazing and I’m pretty convinced she has healing hands, because I always feel like a new person after I’ve been to her!I love supporting women who strive for success and want to keep improving. She’s currently building and extending her spa and I can’t wait to see it complete.
I chatted to Candice and I asked her if it would be OK for me to do this… I want to treat one of you to what I enjoy so much – a beautiful facial and massage that will make you melt. It’s a thank you for reading and also because we’re close to it being half way through 2016, I feel like you need a ‘me-time’ break! Candice very kindly said that she would comp it, but I’ve insisted that I’d like to pay, as it is my treat!
If you need some me-time and you’re in the Cape Town area (sorry JHB & Durban – I have something coming up for you guys in the next month), please leave me a comment below!
I’d also Loveit (see what I did there?) if you would give Loveit Spa a follow and like on Instagram and Facebook. That support is always appreciated.
I’ll let the winner know via email next Wednesday!
I love these quotes below – thank you Pinterest!

Some much needed “me time” would be amazing!!!!! I’m definitely suffering from middle year syndrome: last break/holiday was ages ago, next break/holiday is ages away 🙁 Everybody is feeling awfully tired right about now. Nothing a facial and massage can’t fix though 😉
I am Cape Town based
May 27, 2016 at 11:14 amI don’t like to complain because I try to be mindful of how lucky I am in so many ways, and that others have it way harder than I do. But right now, running my own business is really scary, not to mention stressful and exhausting. On top of that I’m writing exams (my most difficult modules so far!), next week I go straight from my exam to Jo’burg for some major meetings (hold thumbs!), then I’m off to Durban, then I come back for more exams… All while trying to get a bond which is proving to be impossible as an entrepreneur (this has been going on for weeks), and trying to help my domestic worker launch a crowd fund campaign for her own dream, and worrying about money and the future especially since my husband and I are both dealing with very scary times with our businesses…
I’ve spent too much time whining. In short: Some “me” time would most definitely NOT go amiss right now!
May 27, 2016 at 12:29 pmHey Lize, you sound like you really need a good pamper session! Congratulations! You’ve WON! I’ll be in touch to set up your appointment! I really hope you enjoy this treat on me and thank you for reading – means the world! x
June 2, 2016 at 5:40 pmThanks so much, Bails! How should I go about booking?
June 16, 2016 at 7:14 pmYay! Let me chat to Candice and I’ll let you know ASAP! X
June 16, 2016 at 7:15 pmI would really love some me time! We have just moved house and are in a crazy unpacking/sorting/painting/chucking out. I’m also 8 months pregnant so it’s a real race against the clock before baby arrives. The baby room is also still far from finished! There has been absolutely no time for any ‘me’ time let alone any quality time with the husband. Even though these are all exciting and happy times, it would be so wonderful just to have some time out.
May 27, 2016 at 1:04 pmI absolutely love this, that last quote especially is so amazing! Have a great holiday weekend!

May 30, 2016 at 11:45 amI Love It when I close my eyes and my weary head slowly melts into the soft bed.
I Love It when my breath calms and I begin to forget the day’s qualms.
I Love It when I am grateful for the healing hands that let me forget my worrying plans.
I Love It when I gently re-emerge from the blissful purge.
I Love It, yes, I simply Love It.

It’s June but what a year it’s been, a roller coaster ride indeed! Needless to say, I’ve learnt that your relationship with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship in our lives. So the second half of the year will be spent taking care of me! Would love to enjoy some ‘me time’ at LoveIt Spa
June 1, 2016 at 11:15 amOur comrades race 2016 didn’t work out as Hubby and I planned so I would give him the massage as a treat.
June 1, 2016 at 11:58 amI would absolutely love some me-time. I haven’t been very kind to myself in the past few years and think this is a great time to start! ps I absolutely love your quotes, thanks for sharing 🙂
June 1, 2016 at 12:02 pmI think this is just phenomenal! I have NEVER been for any facial or massage for that matter, have always wanted to go, but have just not quite made it there. It has been a long stressful past month & i could seriously do with some much needed “me time”. Fingers crossed 🙂
