My Little Sister Got Married

On Wednesday, Sox and I flew to Johannesburg ahead of my little sister Tandi’s wedding on Saturday. We hung out in the Slow Lounge until it was time to board…

I settled in and finished my book…

Of course it was major catch up sessions with my family and Duke

All the bridesmaids finally came together… Tandi had 4 bridesmaids in different parts of the world. 1 in London, 1 in Korea, 1 in Johannesburg and 1 in Cape Town.

We had a delicious lunch and an exciting catch up in Sandton. Karolina actually commented on the photo below: You can tell there’s a wedding around the corner. Everyone ordered salad.

I always boast about Cape Town’s spectacular sunsets, but I love to give Johannesburg credit too… The sky turned from baby pink cotton candy to deep orange and pink. It was stunning.

My Uncle and Aunt arrived from Switzerland and on Thursday evening we had a family dinner…

Tandi spoilt the bridesmaids and mom’s to a pamper session of manicures and pedicures. We were all so relaxed after our feet and hand massages. I honestly, nearly fell asleep…

A spot of tea was needed afterwards…

I can’t even begin to explain how beautiful Saturday the 14th of March was! It was honestly perfect.

It all felt surreal. Here’s my sister getting married and yet I feel like she’s still the little pigtailed girl setting up our Barbies. I can’t quite explain it… All I know is that I couldn’t be more proud of her. I have always known she is absolutely drop dead gorgeous, but on Saturday she looked the best I’ve ever seen her. She was radiating every loving, happy, exquisite light beam.

We spent the day getting ready, listening to music, sipping champagne and were all actually pretty chilled. Even the make up artists and hair stylist were saying that we were such a calm bridal party. It was only with 10 minutes to go that everything suddenly got real.

Out of respect for my sister and my new brother-in-law (Yay! I finally have a brother) I won’t be posting all the details as they want it to keep it personal for just those who attended the wedding.

I will, however, share the pics that were already on social media and a few I know she won’t mind…

 Introducing Mr and Mrs Bruyns:

Sox and I had a moment on the bridge…

Happy Mom and Dad…

I don’t know what I was laughing at, but I LOVE this photo of my Dad and I dancing

We had such a good party!

The next morning, the 2 families had breakfast together.

Here we are with my Uncle Paul and Aunt Nadja from Switzerland…

I woke up fine… a little groggy and tired from lack of sleep. As the day wore on, a hangover appeared. It’s so annoying to have a hangover when I drank so little. I seriously am a lightweight. It is ridiculous.

The flight home was tough and I just wanted to get into bed with water and headache tablets.

Luckily I woke up feeling 100% fresh and fine and ready to conquer the week!
