I can’t believe we are in November/Movember.
All the Christmas decorations are up in the stores, Christmas goodies are on the shelves and I don’t know about you, but I feel a bit shocked.
I still feel as if there should be a few more months to this year. I also feel like I say this every year, but I feel like the time in between is getting shorter. Didn’t I just say this about last year?
Anyway, I wasn’t planning on doing anything for Halloween last Thursday, even though I LOVE the idea. I also grew up in a neighbourhood where Halloween was huge. I couldn’t wait to dress up and go Trick or Treating as a little girl. I’m still secretly sad that I can’t Trick or Treat anymore.
It was such terrible weather with relentless cold rain, so I didn’t think anyone would be doing anything, but Cafe Caprice held their Halloween party and I was so impressed with how many people rocked up and were kitted out in the most amazing outfits. As I hadn’t planned to do anything, I didn’t have an outfit, but I had Top Shop cat ears so I popped those on.
Normally you have to beg people to dress up, but not this time – I was the most under dressed person there. I can’t wait for next year!
On Friday I got to film for Expresso TV show again. Lisa Raleigh and I did a Bikram yoga class – amazing! I believe the insert will be broadcast on the 11th of November.
In amongst work and events, my boyfriend and I have been at the hospital for hours visiting his dad. Hopefully he will be discharged tomorrow. Hospitals are just so exhausting; they are so draining.
On Friday night, instead of going out I couldn’t wait to curl up with a good TV show and tea. I think I watched half a TV show and fell asleep. I needed it.
I am watching: Nashville – I have never been a country music fan (except for Taylor Swift, Faith Hill and Shania) but this show is making me fall in love with it.
Ravenswood is a spin off from Pretty Little Liars and while I’ve only seen the first 2 episodes I am hooked. I’m also such a dork. I had to stop watching half way through one of the episodes because I was spooked and couldn’t watch it alone.

I am currently reading: Anthony Kiedis’ Scar Tissue. I’ve heard so many people rave about it and I’ve finally gotten round to reading it. I still can’t believe the man is alive. I’m half way through.
I am listening to: Lorde Royals – can’t believe the New Zealand star is only 17 and Atlas Genius.
I am looking forward to my dad’s 60th birthday this coming Sunday. I am beyond excited because we will be celebrating as a family in Zanzibar. I can’t express how grateful and blessed I feel. I posted this up on Saturday…
Today it is 5 more sleeps until I am here:
On Saturday my mate Maria picked me up and we went to Camps Bay beach for 2 hours. I got so burnt I can hardly sit down. I put sunscreen on my front and not on my back. Stupid.
I turned onto my stomach for 15 minutes and today I can hardly sit down. My back and the back of my legs are lobster red and I am aching. I actually had sunstroke on Saturday evening.
It’s not funny and I’m quite annoyed at myself. Highly irresponsible. Yes, I’ve given myself the lecture and boy have I been lectured by mom and my man.

On Sunday, after a Sweat 1000 class, Josie, Jen and I went to Emily’s baby shower. It was a baby shower with a difference – baby Arabella decided to make an early entry into the world, so we still had the baby shower that was originally scheduled for Ems, only that baby Arabella is in Neonatal care at the moment and such a little fighter. I can’t wait to meet her. The photos I’ve seen so far show she is absolutely perfect – tiny but perfect.
It was so awesome spending time sipping tea, catching up and watching Em open up all her pink presents.
I couldn’t resist buying her these cute outfits…

It’s been an awesome weekend and I have a hectic week ahead as I have to make sure everything is sorted and ready before I fly out to celebrate dad’s birthday!
Happy Monday!
