My favourite food is seafood. I absolutely adore it. Prawns are my best with oysters coming in a VERY close second!
Nothing more delicious than squeezing some lemon juice, grinding some black pepper and splashing some Tabasco sauce on a fresh oyster.
The annual Oyster, Wine & Food Festival is happening next weekend on the 28th and 29th May. It’s being held at The Brightwater Commons in Randburg, Johannesburg. It is the largest oyster festival in Gauteng and the second largest of its kind in South Africa.
I believe there are going to be something crazy like 26 000 oysters available in the 2 days. I see this as a VERY exciting challenge. When I heard there is going to be wine and champagne from 28 different wine estates too, I did a happy dance. Again. Luckily no one saw me. It’s really not a pretty sight.

Cheeses, olives, pastries, nougat, confectionery and other gourmet foods will be on offer to tantalise the taste buds and can be found in the Gourmet Food Tent. (Read: Where you will find me… after I’ve finished off every oyster. Just saying.)
