Mini Letters 4

Dear December… Well that was fast! Chapter 12 of 12. What a year 2016 has been. High highs, low lows. So many blessings and I’m grateful for it all – even the hard lessons! Let’s make this a December to remember!img_5648

Dear Fantasy vs Reality… Each year I have the fantasy of having all my Christmas shopping down early. Sox and I will have the Christmas tree up and decorated by the 1st of December to enjoy this magical time of the year. It will be romantic as we listen to Christmas music, have a glass of wine and kiss under the mistletoe. Obviously. Our home will smell of delicious baked goods as I get to try new Banting Christmas recipes for Christmas mince pies – my best!

The reality is, I haven’t even made Christmas shopping lists and don’t know when I’m going to get a gap to go to the shops or even shop online. Our Christmas tree is stored in storage, collecting dust and the idea of trying to find it and haul it out, has me exhausted. If I don’t have time to even shop online, how did this inner Nigella/Martha Stewart (without the convict record) think she was going to have time to bake. Oh this adulting thing… one day I’ll get it right!

Dear Terry Pheto, you were amazing in the movie A United Kingdom. I’d highly recommend you watch the film, which is on at cinemas from the 9th of December. Rosemund Pike from Gone Girl fame, is also wonderful. What an incredible true story of love and resilience. Interviewing you afterwards for my radio show on Smile 90.4 FM was so much fun! terry-pheto-and-bailey-schneider

Dear Gavin Rajah, thank you for the beautiful dress. I wore it to host the Huawei Africom Gala Dinner and it was so elegant.bailey-schneider-wearing-gavin-rajah

Dear Cape Town. Finally! Summer has arrived and it’s glorious. I’m really hoping I’ll be able to get to the beach this December, even though I’m working through!

Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget I have 2 competitions happening: Trendology and La-Tweez.

I also find that I am NEVER organised this time of year. I don’t really like the December/Christmas period as people go crazy – shops get crowded, everyone goes bananas. Lol. But I wish you a lovely Christmas.
