Life Lately

The alarm rang at 5am. We pulled on our jeans, snug boots and sleepily drove to the airport to say a teary goodbye to Sofi, Sox’s sister. She is flying back to Greece. It has been so special having her here and we wish she could stay.

I’m glad we got to do a walk along the promenade to Bootleggers, Bantry Bay for breakfast with her. We were completely underwhelmed by the breakfast, but overwhelmed by how beautiful Cape Town is. I know it is nearly 3 years that this has been my home, but I promised myself that I would never become blasé over how magical it is living by the sea.

We also happened to pick a day that was particularly beautiful – bright blue skies and warm enough to not really need the jackets we had brought. IMG_7706IMG_7707IMG_7714IMG_7720IMG_7722IMG_7726IMG_7727I received this lovely package from Savanna. I can’t drink tequila… I literally break out in hives and my throat closes. Aren’t I fun?

This is the closest I’ll ever get to drinking tequila, so I’m quite excited to try it this weekend. Packaging is everything, isn’t it?IMG_7739On the 24th March, it was my mom in law Dimitra’s birthday. We celebrated at Mykonos Greek Taverna. IMG_7774Speaking of birthdays, on the 25th of March, Smile 90.4 FM turned 3 years old. It also happened to be the day we got the latest audience figures and we have so much to celebrate. We are officially the fastest growing radio station and it feels fantastic to know that all the hard work is paying off. The cake was a replica of the “Birthday Wheel” we had in studio for a competition we’d been running.IMG_7760When the weather took a wintery turn, we took full advantage of eating comfort food. It’s still healthy though – we tried the Banting pizza’s at Forries. Delicious! Banting PizzaTable Mountain and Lion’s Head playing Hide n Seek in the clouds.IMG_7785In my previous post about my favourite primers, I was asked about my nail polish colour. I snuck in a much needed manicure at Fox Box at the V&A Waterfront, Woolworths. I love going there because the ladies are so full of personality and I never stop laughing. They told me about this new colour called Tan my Hide. I’ve been looking for a white-ish/pink-ish colour, so I was so excited about this.IMG_7801.JPGTan My Hide GelIMG_7810I also bought a MAC Matt Lipstick in Back in Vogue, the Prep + Prime Lip Primer (which was an upsale, but a happy one) and Mineralize concealer.MAC MAKE UPI must be honest, I’m getting back into the swing of things. It feels so strange not having a wedding to plan, but I put so many things to the side because of the planning, so now I’m playing catch up! I’m getting there slowly but surely – especially with the short weeks and all the public holidays we’ve had.
