I’m sorry Vanilla Blonde has taken a little back seat. Things have been a little chaotic – in the best possible way! Still pinching myself.
Isn’t it funny how when it rains, it pours. Everything started in exactly the same week…
Let’s go back…
Last Thursday, Natalie invited me to the Greek Ladies Charity Quiz Evening. The theme was Coyote Ugly, so we donned our boots and tartan and headed to the Greek Club for a hilariously good night.
We may not have won the quiz, but we won the Personality table.

On Friday morning I went for a lovely, crisp Promenade walk with my awesome friend, Lisa
Some of my best friends were in Cape Town – Tomislav and Lucia! On Saturday, Lucia curled up on the couch under the blanket, until we eventually dressed warmly and headed out to the Oranjezicht market, at Hellen Zille’s property. What an awesome experience.
Sox and I nearly did backflips when we found the Sweet Like Candi stand. It’s a Banting friendly stand of grain free, sugar free deliciousness!
We even found Dave at Sexy Socks! Love these… and the best part? When you purchase a pair, Sexy Socks donates a pair to under priviledged children. Order here.
On Sunday, Sox and I took his sister, Sofi, who is out from Greece on a drive, looking for wedding venues. We have found some beautiful places… but nothing is set in stone just yet.
Monday, was a MASSIVE day for me… I started my very first LIVE TV presenting show on the Expresso Morning show! There was no practise run… there was no rehearsal. I was strapped up with a microphone and an ear piece for the control room to give directions and it was LIVE! To say I was nervous was an understatement.
I guess, I’m not supposed to share that. People in my industry are supposed to just make out like they’re cool, calm, collected, confident and know what they’re doing. A brush off – piece of cake, vibe.
Um. I’m human. I was nervous and a little terrified to tell you the truth.
The show has been going for 5 years and the presenters are AMAZING, seasoned and it’s a well-oiled, excellently run ship… Today is my Day 3 and I’m feeling a little more comfortable, still obviously nervous, but I learn something new each day and I’m hoping to get better and better.
Thanks for all the lovely comments and for the negative comments… Ah well, you can’t please everyone.
Yesterday’s show… Bastion is the French Bulldog puppy of Bob and Bella. The cutest! |
Wednesday (Today) morning at Expresso |
It was then onto present my radio show at 2Oceansvibe radio and then off to my very first show on Smile 90.4 FM. The Smile Drive with Maurice and Bailey.
It feels good to be back on Commercial radio and it also feels good to back on Afternoon Drive. It feels like home.
Maurice and I get on so well and I’m excited to grow the Afternoon Drive show.
Thank you Michelle, for the beautiful delivery on sunflowers on my first day! So spoilt! |
On Monday the 18th, not only was it my first Live show and first Afternoon Drive show, it was also my 3 year anniversary with Sox.
How is this for ironic… 3 years ago on the 18th of May, I was a guest on the Expresso Show for my reveal in the USN 12 Week Challenge. Later that afternoon, I went to 2Oceansvibe Radio where I met Sox.
Taken on a quick coffee date in between my shows |
After an amazing day, Maurice and I got to see this magnificent sunset.
Right… it’s off to do show prep! Have an awesome day x
