Last Friday, the weather was grey, gloomy and really cold. It also started pouring outside and I knew we had chosen a great day to visit Kloof Street House, with the fires crackling, a glass of red wine and my lovely lunch winner, Megan Richards joining me.
I was a little apprehensive. What if the winner and I didn’t get on well? What if we had nothing to talk about?
How silly of me. I should know by now that the people reading my blog are fabulous, wonderful, warm, funny and amazing. Thank you again for taking the time to read this blog of mine.
Megan is back to her studies and is doing so well at Industrial Psychology. What a smart woman. We chatted about family, life, blogging, relationships, travel, studies, career. It was fantastic. Hours flew by.
Oh and in between all of this, we enjoyed the gorgeous decor and our delicious meal.
Megan had the butternut, spinach & feta spring rolls, dukka spiced sweet chilli sauce
I had the whole baked Camembert, caramelized onions & homemade cranberry jelly…
For mains, Megan had the potato gnocchi with oxtail ragu, orange and rosemary gremolata
I had the baked lentil and artichoke loaf, glazed goats cheese, carrot and cumin puree
Her tweet afterwards really made me blush:
What a wonderful afternoon! Megan, thank you for being an amazing lunch date! Let’s do it again soon!
