I was contacted and asked to be a part of Grand Designs Live. It’s a massive show in the UK on BBC and it’s come to SA again as an Expo at the Coca Cola Dome.
I was asked to be a part of Living Spaces. 6 rooms, 6 celebrities and we get to work with the top interior designer or as I like to call him creative architect, Colin O’mara Davis. He’s done a lot of work on Top Billing and is just a decorating genius.
We were each assigned a room. Gregg Hammond decorated the Bachelor pad, Bridget Masinga decorated the bedroom boudoir, Mark Pilgrim decorated the office, Kahn Morbee from the Parlotones decorated the music room, Ashley Hayden decorated the children’s bedroom for her 9 year old daughter and I was tasked with the library.
I am such a book worm, so this was the perfect synergy for me.
I wanted a space that is earthy with lots of texture and warmth. It’s a cocoon and sanctuary to pour a glass of wine by the fire place, curl up under a luxurious blanket and read a good book.

Mark Pilgrim designed the office:
Love the wallpaper… it looks so life like |
Ashley Hayden designed the kids room:
Love the old school desk |
Unfortunately I ran out of time and wasn’t able to photograph Gregg Hammond’s room or Bridget Masinga’s room … It’s a pity, because they were awesome!
Colin and I stood on stage and did a presentation to everyone there…

… It was fun to people watch from a distance and see everyone’s reactions. |
