Flutter Eyelash

I never leave the house without mascara. If eyes are the windows to your soul, I like to frame mine beautifully, by enhancing my eyelashes.

I’ve seen a few bloggers talking about eyelash extensions, and yet again, like the standard rumour of hair extensions, I was worried that they could potentially do damage to my own lashes.

As with anything, you need to research and make sure you use the correct products and that they are installed professionally.

References are always the best and I had heard from quite a few people that Flutter Eyelashes give the best service and really do the most spectacular job.

I had to try it.

I met Melissa, Thobi and Cindy at Carlton Hair, Hyde Park where they install the eyelashes. I was quite nervous about the process, (I have no idea why) but they were so warm and wonderful and made me feel as if I was a part of the family and not meeting them for the first time.

Thobi explained the process and we decided on a lush, glamourous look, but that would still be natural.

I lay back in the chair and Thobi cleaned my eye area, put some eye drops in and then put the eye patches in place. She was so gentle and I never once felt uncomfortable with her working in the eye area, which can normally be quite sensitive. She started placing the eyelashes and to give you an idea of how gentle she was, I fell asleep a few times. I only woke up when she used a device that softly blew air onto the lashes. It was soothing.

I don’t know why, but I expected it to be sore. It wasn’t.

The process took an hour and a half and I was amazed when I got to open my eyes and see the results.

I won’t be needing mascara for a while and I love how it just opens up my eye area.

There are a few rules.

No tugging or vigourously rubbing your eyes.

Don’t use an oil based make-up remover or oil based eye make-up.

Ensure you bat your eyelashes at the local hottie. He will notice you now more than ever.

The funny thing is, the people who know me, looked at me and said I had done my eye make up beautifully. The irony is I had no eye make up on whatsoever. Bonus.
