Feed. Fortify. Finish

This year, 2021, was meant to be my Year of Health. Much like this year, that too has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs. A pandemic + an international move has meant a complete upheaval in my life and while I’d like to say that I’ve been on top of things, I realistically have not.

Rather than throw in the towel and give up (or wait for a new year), I’m not waiting for that (or a Monday.)
Last month I met up with Laura Craig and Barbara Nanoy from Chrysallis Proderma. I had a skin assessment to see how my skin is looking and address concerns I have.

I know I have Rosacea, thankfully it is mild, but it can flare up with the weather, if I eat spicy food (which can also flare up Ocular Rosacea for me) and other factors I can’t always put my finger on.
We spoke about the hydration of my skin, the lines and so on.
I am extremely excited to work with Environ Greece and we’ve looked at the best products for my skin, based on the skin assessment.

Eeek!!!!

Environ is just one of the products they have, and they introduced me to other product lines too:

What I love is the holistic approach they have: Feed. Fortify. Finish. This is how I’m going to be taking care of my skin.

Feed:

Feed my skin (and body) from the inside with the Advanced Nutrition Programme supplements.
I’m taking Skin Omegas+ , Skin Accumax and Skin Clear Biome. Besides the product packing a punch, its packaging is really beautiful too.

Skin Omegas+ contains fish oils and Vitamin A.

Skin Accumax is a patented, award-winning, skin nutrition supplement that works internally for problem skin.
Developed by professional nutritionists, Skin Accumax combines Vitamin A, C, E & herbal ingredients that work together synergistically to support skin health.

Skin Clear Biome has four strains of beneficial bacteria and yeast that act synergistically to balance and cleanse the skin from within.

Fortify:

I’m using this range of Environ products on my skin.

To clean my skin, I’m using Skin EssentiA Cleansing Lotion. This luxurious, moisturising cream cleanser gently lifts surface impurities while maintaining the effects of the skin’s natural moisture balance. It rinses off
easily, leaving my skin feeling gently refreshed and conditioned.

For my eye area, I apply Youth EssentiA Vita-Peptide Eye Gel. This eye gel contains essential vitamins, antioxidants and specially selected peptides for use on the delicate and sensitive eye area. It assists in hydrating the
skin and minimising the appearance of fine lines, helping skin to look younger for longer. At the same time, it helps to improve sun damaged skin cells and enhances the effects of the skin’s natural sun protectors, giving skin a radiant glow.

I am mixing Body EssentiA Alpha Hydroxy Derma-Lac lotion and the Body EssentiA Body Oil together and my skin loves it.
The Alpha Hydroxy Derma-Lac lotion is a lightly fragranced lotion that helps to soften rough areas on your skin, such as elbows and heels, whilst also helping to boost skins moisture levels. It energises dull, tired-looking skin, and assists in gently exfoliating the skin and in improving skins tone and texture, leaving it looking healthy and beautiful.

The oil has Vitamin A, C and E and
antioxidants to help nourish and relieve the appearance of dry and sun-
damaged skin, giving it a soft, velvety look and feel. It also helps to condition the skin and assists in improving the appearance of fine lines & uneven tone.

Don’t forget the sunscreen. It needs to be worn every single day, despite the weather. Even if you’re staying indoors, we are constantly on screens and that’s just as bad (if not worse) than the suns rays. I’m using the RAD Antioxidant SPF 15 which helps fight free radicals. It’s suitable for all skin types including babies, from 6 months and older.

Finish:

It’s really important to look at the make-up you’re applying to your skin. There’s no point in taking excellent care of your skin, inside and out, and then lathering it with make-up that is not good for it.

I must admit, I’d never heard of the brand Jane Iredale. It’s an American product, in Greece and I love it’s philosphy.

The most beautiful cosmetic you can wear is a healthy complexion. That is why our products not only highlight your true beauty, but are an extension of your skin care. Our mineral bases will make your life simpler, because they provide you with four important functions in one product, it is a base, concealer, sunscreen and active skin care.

Jane Iredale

I am trying the Amazing Base® Loose Mineral Powder SPF 20. I had to get my head around the idea of powder as a foundation, but it is a 4-in-1: base, powder, concealer and sunscreen. It really does live up to it’s name of “amazing” … it can give you light coverage or full coverage, depending on your application and with the full coverage, you’re not cakey/powdery.
It’s composition is safe for reefs and it\s water resistant for up to 40 minutes. Like I said, amazing!
I usually get quite shiny on my T-zone by midday, but with this foundation I’ve stayed matte for much longer, which means I don’t have to powder my face.

I’m also trying the PurePressed Blush in the colour: Sheer Honey. It’s pigment is insane, so you need a very little to give you the most beautiful glow. I use a fan brush for an even, blended application. It’s also suitable for use on the cheeks, eyes and lips, which is why I chose the Sheer Honey colour, it’s a neutral peach-brown shade and looks good in Summer and Winter.

I set it with the Hydration Spray POMMISST ™, a moisturising face spray with additional antioxidant activity due to the pomegranate extract. The spray stabilises mineral metals and sets make up to stay all day and night.

They popped a sample of Forever Peach Just Kissed® Lip and Cheek Stain. I love a product that is versatile.

When I opened it up, I was a bit shocked by the bright orange colour, but it’s phenomenal because it adapts to the chemistry of your skin and gives you the shade that suits you. It’s also highly moisturising with olive extract, avocado butter and wild rose wax for soft and hydrated lips.

I’ll be doing a video on these beauty products soon, so you can actually see how they look on the skin! Keep an eye out on my Instagram page @baileygeorgides_

Feed. Fortify. Finish. I’m excited to turn my skin around and I’ll be doing another check in in the next few weeks with an honest update!
