Beauty Haul

These are some of my most recent purchases. I’m loving them so much and had to share them.

Mascara:

I have always been a massive fan of Maybelline mascaras and they will always be in my Top 5. I have however, just purchased this mascara from Catrice: Better Than False Lashes Volume Mascara and it is awesome! It glides on and if you add a few coats, it builds beautifully, without giving you tarantula eyes. Girls, if you have fine lashes, this is fantastic for you.

Body Milk:

I have tried thousands hundreds of body lotions, body butters, body creams etc etc… After all these years, I have finally found my absolute favourite. It’s the Body Shop Body Milk. It is so light and easy to apply, but it’s still extremely moisturising without feeling greasy and heavy. It works well in Summer and is strong enough to moisturise even in Winter. I know I love everything Vanilla… but my other go to fragrance that I just adore is anything and everything coconut. LOVE!

Foundation:

A few months ago I was given Catrice’s Ultimate Moisture Foundation. I tried it out and loved it. I ran out of it this month and went back to buy it. It glides on and blends beautifully into my skin. I use the colour 030 Honey, which is darker than I would usually use, but in Summer I always go a shade or 2 darker and this looks fantastic when you have a tan.

I never have to reapply during the day, it has great coverage and keeps my skin feeling light, not caked.

Eye liner for a smokey eye:

Essence has come out with a Jumbo Eye Pencil in Deep Black. It lines your eyes easily and it’s soft so you don’t need to press hard and draw it on, which can irritate your eyes. As it’s soft, it is also fantastic to blend. Don’t get me wrong, it has staying power, so it’s soft enough to apply and blend but once you’ve got your achieved look, it holds.

Nail polishes:

I don’t always have time to get to a manicure appointment or sit for an hour – I wish I did, but sadly these days, time for manicures is turning more into a luxury than a habit.

I love Essie’s fun colours. My summer go to colour is always a bright coral colour. I am loving Essie Tangerine.

I also love a nude nail. I’m really bad at giving myself a french manicure, so I now opt for nude colours that give that illusion. I love Essence’s nail polish consistency and it’s price – hello? R19, 95 for a nail polish! Yes please! I’m playing with Give me nude, baby! and Space Man – the nude glitter colour. It’s fun to add the glitter over the colour or alternatively I make only my ring fingers sparkly and keep my other finger nails nude.

Coloured Lip Balm:

I don’t always like wearing lipsticks. They can bleed, they can fade quickly and they can dry my lips out.

Catrice have come out with Pure Shine Colour Lip Balm. You can see I use the peachy colour so much, that the label has rubbed off, so I can’t even tell you what the name is. The other colour I use at night and that’s called My Cherry Berry.
