Bailey’s Coco-Berry Bullet

I am back in South Africa! It feels good to be back, but I may have some holiday blues. Speaking of blue… What a shock to come back to cold weather after experiencing the delicious hot summer 38 degree temperatures.

I am excited that today is Spring Day, which means we are close to having our own deliciously warm summer days and nights.

I wanted to take a little break in the Greek Travel Diaries (they will resume tomorrow) to tell you about The NutriBullet, an amazing product I’ve been introduced to.

The NutriBullet extracts all the fresh ingredients goodness into it’s most nutritious, absorptive state, turning our food into superfood. Juicing can remove the fibres and blending can leave behind chunks… this is just so much better. This little bullet is so powerful it busts open seeds, cracks through stems, and shreds tough skin.

It comes with an extractor blade and a milling blade, 1 tall cup and lid and 2 short cups and lids, a recipe book in case you need some inspiration.

I came up with a recipe that is full of goodness. It’s an anti-ageing, fat blasting, energy giving juice that tastes amazing. Here is the Bailey’s Coco-Berry Bullet.

Blueberries* (fresh or frozen)

Raspberries* (fresh or frozen) *I used frozen since the berries aren’t in season at the moment, but will be soon. Yay!

Mint leaves

1 tbsp of coconut oil

Coconut water

This recipe is so good for you because of the combined ingredients that are high in vitamins, antioxidants for youthful skin and organs and these beauties have powerful fat blasting properties.

Coconut Oil has the health benefits that help hair, skin, stress relief, cholesterol level maintenance, weight loss, a boosted immune system, regulate metabolism, helps to improve dental quality and bone strength… The list of health benefits go on and on.

Coconut Water has more potassium than 4 bananas, fantastic for your kidneys and is amazing for hangovers because of it’s electrolytes and hydrating properties. It’s healthy for your blood by reducing blood pressure, a great aid for weight loss and keeps your skin healthy and blemish free.

Strawberries help burn fat, boosts short term memory, they’re low in calories and high in fibre, they are high in Vitamin C, have anti-ageing antioxidants and have potassium, vitamin K and magnesium, which are all important for strong bones.

Blueberries have the highest antioxidants of any fruit and are rich in Vitamin A, B complex, C and E. They help reduce belly fat, promote urinary tract health, they’ve been proved to preserve vision and are excellent for the brain.

Raspberries are also extremely high in antioxidants, fibre, Potassium, Iron, Vitamin C, Potassium, Magnesium and Zinc. They improve vision, are great for inflammation and those who are diabetic. They are really good for the heart too. Raspberry ketone helps blast stored fat in the tummy region.

Mint leaves are strong in Vitamin A, Iron, Potassium and fibre. They also have fantastic antioxidants in them and are great for the blood and for any nausea you might have.

How are those health benefits all packed into one nutritious glass?

It’s so easy to make and absolutely delicious too.

Fit in as many ingredients as you can or want to into the holder. Tighten the extractor blade on like a lid and then pop it onto the Nutribullet. Hold it down and let the magic happen.

Solid or liquid… it doesn’t matter

Voila! Pour it into a glass or into one of the cups with a lid and take it with you if you’re on the go.

I’ll be honest, one of the things that puts me off juicing and blending is the mess afterwards. Juicers always have so much pulp and fibre left behind, which becomes a mission to clean. Even blenders can be annoying to clean.

I love that the NutriBullet comes apart quite easily and literally rinses off or you can give it a good warm, soapy scrub.

The berries and coconut really have a summery feel to them and it’s the best way to celebrate Spring Day
