DIY Cleanser for Beauty Blenders and Make Up Brushes

I’m a huge coconut oil fan. I use it on my skin, on my hair as a hair mask, in cooking (here are some of my recipes: nut granola, chicken curry, make your own almond butter, coco-berry smoothie) and I’m still wanting to try the oil pulling. Have you tried it? I’d love your thoughts.

It’s uses are just unlimited and it really is miraculous stuff. Coconut oil is an excellent cleanser, which probably sounds bizarre considering it’s an oil.

Coconut oil, however, is the most effective way to remove dirt and yes, even oil. It works on this principle “like dissolves like”; so the natural oil from your face that gets transferred into the makeup brushes, sponges and beauty blenders gets dissolved with the coconut oil.

I have the most brilliant brush, sponge and beauty blender cleanser for you.

Ingredients:

1 Tbs of Coconut oil (I use whatever I use to cook with.)

A few squirts of Baby shampoo

A few squirts of dish washing liquid.

Add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and put it into a dish

Add a few squirts of baby shampoo

Add a few squirts of dishwashing liquid.

Mix it all together and then roll your beauty blender/sponge into the mixture and gently massage the foundation/bronzer, dirt and oil out.

Rinse well and then set it out to dry on a fluffy towel.

Repeat for all your make-up brushes, remembering to rinse well.

Lay all your brushes out on a towel to dry. The coconut oil also moisturisers the hair in the brushes leaving them softer than ever before. Win win.
