Poros, Part 1

I didn’t know much about the next part of our trip because Sox arranged it all. We got to Piraeus Port early and got the 8am Ferry. Even though the trip was quick, when bored, we take selfies. Well I try and Sox “allows me” 2, but I have to be quick. Haha!ferry-selfie-2-copyferry-selfies-copy

We arrived in Poros, a small island that is covered in pine trees, stone buildings and cobbled streets. It has such character and I didn’t know where to look first.

Our hotel transfer whisked us around the corner to the Poros Image Hotel.poros-image-3-copy

We were shown where we to go for breakfast, afternoon tea and sundowners… What a view…hotel-balcony-copyhotel-views-copyOur room was simple and the view breathtaking…hotel-room-copy

Come, let’s step outside so I can show you…poros-hotel-view-2-copyporos-pier-copyporos-hotel-view-copyclear-water-copyporos-waters-copy

The water was so enticing, we got into our Maaji swimwear and headed for the hotels private beach. Admittedly, when we were choosing swimwear back home, it was freezing cold. It felt absurd to be trying on bright coloured printed swimwear, but now in the summer heat we couldn’t wait to put them on and merge the patterns with the warm water.

The swimwear is so comfortable, it’s sexy, it’s bright with the best patterns and the quality is amazing!

We headed down the path lined with pine trees and alive with he sound of Cicadas.

Until we came to the hotel guests private beach …poros-image-private-beach-copybeach-day-copy

I travelled with 2 beach hats from Elizabeth Summer accessories. One that says: “Hello” in sequins and one that says “Wanderlust” with a little palm tree in sequins. Obsessed with them. hello-hat-copybeach-time-copyProcessed with VSCO with hb2 presetsox-and-bailey-beach-selfie-copy

After some time at the beach, we moved to the hotel pool for a final dip – the pool was much colder than the ocean. pool-copy

After a lazy day in the sun, we headed back to our room to shower and get ready to visit Poros Town for dinner and a little exploring.poros-image-copyThe sun only sets after 9pm, so you have long full days.

Poros Town is just what you’d imagine for a little Greek island port. There are aromatic restaurants, cosy cafes, shops that stay open til midnight, all the boats and yachts are docked like protective soldiers and twinkling fairy lights come alive at night.restaurant-copy

We walked around and settled on one of the restaurants for dinner. We swopped between sipping cold local wine and water and shared a meze of dishes. sox-pouring-water-copy

Finished off with complimentary watermelon.complimentary-watermelon-copyUtterly stuffed, we headed via taxi, back to our hotel leaving Poros’ twinkling lights behind. twinkling-lights-copy
