Mark Tuckey for Cotton On

Last week Wednesday, I drove through to the Cotton On store at the V&A Waterfront for the event starting at 8am. I remember when I moved from Johannesburg to Cape Town finding it bizarre that everything starts a lot later down here. So when I received the invitation for 8am, I triple checked that. It’s one of the earliest events I’ve ever been to in Cape Town, and it was awesome! My day felt so much more productive from the earlier start.

Mark Tuckey is an Australian designer who makes beautiful quality homeware pieces. It launched in South Africa and we were some of the first to see it.

The collection features beautifully designed pieces for various areas of the home categorised by Eat, Drink, Relax, Store, Bathe and Sleep.

The range includes blankets, throws, wooden serving bowls, platters, ceramic storage jars and mugs, wooden chopping board, bed linen and cushions.

The quality is amazing and so is the price. It ranges from R149 for a Twin Mug Set to R1899 for a King Duvet set.

When I was instagramming and tweeting, I got some many questions about which stores the homeware would be in.

Here is a complete list of the Cotton On stores: Brooklyn, Canal Walk, Cavendish, Clearwater, Cresta, Eastgate, Gateway, Pavillion, Rosebank, Sandton and the V&A Waterfront.

I was very grateful for the coffee station…

Can you spot Duke?

I finally got to meet this wonderful woman, Emma-Jane.

I loved this flatlay. You could choose pieces, lay them out and then stand above it and take an Instagram pic!

After browsing (and touching) all the pieces, Jeff Clements welcomed us all, explained the pieces and the vision and then we were shown a short video.

We were also told that we would be getting a goody bag and in that goody bag was a R1000 gift voucher. How incredibly generous. I was so grateful!

I used my gift voucher on these 2 hand knitted colourful cushions and bought the hand knitted blanket.

I took this photo very quickly, as I popped the cushions in amongst my Zana cushions. In hindsight, I probably should have styled this shot better and also put the blanket on the couch too.

Dammit Pinterest for always making me think of pin-worthy pictures.

Thank you so much for the lovely event!
