Life Lately Birthday Edition

Can we take a breath please? How is it the 26th of February already? Is this going to be another year that flies by? Oh and I’ve been writing this blog post since the 10th of Feb and each time I want to publish, I get interrupted. It’s just been crazy.

In school, I remember there being a significant amount of time between Christmas  (25 December) and my birthday (4 February.) There was Christmas, New Years, School holidays, back to school, and then my birthday… Now I feel like I say: Merry Christmas, Happy New Year. Blink. It’s my birthday. Come and gone.

I think time flies by because my days are so busy.. it’s all feeling like a blur. As I was picking the pics to post, it made me realise how much I’ve done in a short amount of time.

Oh and I’ve been writing this blog post since the 10th of Feb and each time I want to publish, I get interrupted, or more has happened that I want to include. It’s just been crazy.

Let’s go back to the 31st of January and my greatest love story, Sox turned another year wiser. His Mom made LCHF Baked Cheesecake – delicious and recipe is coming soon.

I saw the FB memory from a year ago and I can’t get over how much our baby is losing his baby-ness! It makes me want to cry and just hold him a little tighter!

A few days later, it was my birthday. I got some amazing surprises! My best friend, Karolina and her family flew down to Cape Town, and so did my Mom! It was incredibly special.

The night before my birthday, Karolina and I met up for a catch up dinner and it was exactly what we needed! Some BFF Time. This was our dinner view.

On my birthday, I went to host my radio show on Smile 90.4 FM and brought fresh cupcakes for the team. I got these from Food Lovers Market. Everyone raved about them.

That afternoon my Mom, my MIL Dimitra and Karolina, Filip and the kids came to us for an early braai!

This was another Banting cake my MIL baked. So yum!

Having my Mom here for a week was really lovely… I know George loved seeing his Granny.

I also got to spend some time with Karolina and the family…

I’ve been really enjoying hosting my own Smile 90.4 FM radio show. I’ve only had my own show now for close to 5 months now, and it’s been a huge shift from co-hosting to hosting and also being somewhat alone in studio. I not only present my own show, but I produce all the content too. I love the challenge.

I must admit I love having my afternoons free. I get to spend some good quality time with Georgie. If we aren’t chilling at home…

We’re taking trips on the Hamley’s Train…

and having babyccino’s. Yes, I’m the Mom who opens her mouth when she feeds.

Every time we go to the beach, we have the best time. Exploring rock pools and seaweed and shells. I absolutely adore seeing the world through his eyes.

Green juice at Strolla…

On Valentines Day, my boys spoiled me with gorgeous cards and roses

I dressed in red…

Did my radio show:

Later, Sox surprised me by arranging his Mom to babysit and making reservations at VIXI Social House.

The food was incredible and I loved our Date Night. We can’t remember the last time we actually had date night. Bad, I know. Everyone always says it’s so important, but it’s crazy to schedule sometimes. It was exactly what we needed.

We enjoyed it so much that over the weekend we went for breakfast as a family…

I’m working on some really fun campaigns that I can’t wait to share with you. I am also working on a dream of mine I’ve had for YEARS. Hopefully I can share that it’s coming to fruition soon!
