Guest Presenting on Expresso

Last week was an absolute highlight for me. Not only did I get to start my Afternoon radio show on Smile 90.4 FM, co-hosting with Maurice Carpede, but I was asked to be a guest presenter on The Expresso Morning Show on SABC 3!

I learned so much about myself in this week and it was incredible.

I don’t think many knew that it was my first time presenting LIVE. There was no run through, no practise session or anything like that. I was discovering and learning how things worked, as you watched!

No pressure.

I was incredibly nervous, but also so damn excited. I’m so passionate about entertaining and about media and broadcasting that I wanted to take this opportunity and really enjoy the experience.

I presented with Ewan Strydom and Katlego Maboe, who have both been on the show since the very beginning – 5 years! Their experience and comfortable ease in front of the camera is inspiring and I learned a lot in just a week.

I have to admit, after the week was done, I really wanted more! I wanted more time to hone skills, to keep learning, to relax more, to bring more of my personality out…

It’s like having a taste of something you really like, you want more of and then being told that it’s all finished.

I had a slow “Noooooooooo” playing out in my head.

Luckily, I’ll be back to present on Friday morning and next week Monday and Tuesday too! I’m hoping that this happens more and more!
