Blonde Ombré

If you’ve been following me on Pinterest, you might have seen my influx of blonde ombré pins. I’ve been growing my hair this year and whilst I will always be a blonde, a natural blonde that I just wake up with highlights, sometimes I want a change.

I’ve seen some horror ombré hair and found a lot of pictures of what I don’t want and a few pictures of what I do want, but even then, I wasn’t 100% sure it would work with me.

At the end of the day, it’s hair and it’s colour and if it doesn’t work, I can just add highlights again.

I went to Brittny at Scar Hair on Kloof street, showed her the pictures and she told me it would be very easy to do, by glossing the hair. She said that we would ease into it by doing a very subtle ombré, called a sombré, by bringing my own natural, darker blonde out at the roots, into a lighter blonde and leaving the ends at they are.

Here was the picture from Pinterest that I showed Britt to show the basic idea, but also not having it as dark…

 Here is my Blonde Sombré…

It’s hard to see the darker blonde thanks to the light pouring in, but I am thrilled with the result and I keep wondering why I didn’t do this sooner. I also love that it’s still blonde, my roots aren’t going to be need to be done for ages and it looks natural!

I took a bathroom mirror selfie at Kloof Street House where I had lunch afterwards…

Brittny, you nailed it and you do every single time! Thank you!
