11 Things I Didn’t Expect in My Pregnancy

Pregnancy for me, has been an amazing journey. It’s hard, it’s overwhelming, it’s miraculous and pretty damn incredible. You can try to prepare yourself, like taking pregnancy vitamins and reading up a bit about what to expect, but there are some body changes I wasn’t expecting.

I’m here, as your friend, to get into the nitty gritty. I hope you find this informative, and entertaining!

I decided to film a video and I had fun making it. It was hard to keep it short because I wanted to give you as much info as possible – from my personal experience… but also not bore you. So I’ve tried to keep it informative, and entertaining.

Disclaimer: I share personal things here and some would even say it’s TMI. I see it as honest sharing. I hope you enjoy!💗

Oh my! Had a good giggle. I had all these things when I was pregnant with my daughter and warned all my friends as well 🙂 The tiredness is what got me the most, 3pm rolled around and I could easily put my head down on my desk and sleep (not a good idea when you work in an open plan office). Mentioned it to my doc and she recommended Similac Mom. I don’t know what I would have done without it, it works like a bomb! and tastes like a delicious vanilla milkshake. Check with your doc and if they give the go ahead go to your nearest Dischem and buy some, you will feel soooooo much better!

Good luck for the next couple of months, it’s all worth it!
    xoxo

Wow how honest was that. So happy to hear your voice again. Being in Johannesburg I don’t get to hear your voice here. Miss your other radio show. The 2 best voices on radio. Baldy and Bails on Highveld. Awesome. Good luck to you but remember as they say you are “cooking” a little baby made up of your genes and your husbands genes. All the best to both of you. Can’t wait to see little Baby “G”. By the way you look stunning.

Haha! The cake craving! So so so true! And I got lost in the V&A parking lot looking for my car the other day – I had to walk out of the parking lot, back onto the street and retrace where I had actually driven in to find my car. Oh and you forgot to mention the blue cheese boob veins haha! X

Oh my goodness, I SLEPT during my pregnancy! And I am not much of a sleeper usually. Pregnancy is the weirdest thing, but it all does return to normal one day, eventually. Lol.

I loved this! I can so relate! I entered my third trimester yesterday and the exhaustion literally came back over night, feel like my legs can’t carry my body.
Thank you for this, I really needed it

Ah, I loved watching this. Took me back to my pregnancy 2014/15 ~ 1st trimester, couldn’t stomach the smell or sight of animal protein. Paul and I went away to the KZN north coast, went to this Italian restaurant, his meal came with this delicious steak. He took one bite and I had to excuse myself and go throw up in the bathroom. Steri stumpi chocolate flavour and Kit Kats were also a daily staple. And fruits ~ oh man, I couldn’t get enough! Enjoy the final trimester and wishing you and Baby G continued safety and health until he is delivered and beyond. Having a healthy baby and safe delivery is the biggest blessing.

Thanks Leigh… I went off eggs in the beginning! Yuck! I’m back to eating egg now though, so that’s OK!
A few friends went through the stern-stumpi chocolate phase – and it makes me want to have one, but I’m worried I’ll open that can of worms and not be able to close it! HAHA! Thanks for the kind wishes and for watching the video – means a lot!

I’m not pregnant, or planning to get that way, but loved your video. Answered a lot of questions that you don’t necessarily want to ask your preggy friends, not always knowing how it will be received (hormones again LOL).

LOVE this video bailey! You are GLOWING!! <3 Good luck with the Chewbaca babay!!! haha 😛 (does hairy baby really mean more heart burn?! or if you are preconditioned to heartburn is it likely to occur when you are pregnant?! so fascinating!)

AW Ché, it is so good to hear from you!
I definitely think the heartburn and hair story is an old wives tale. Every organ is so squashed – especially your stomach – so I can only imagine the acid has one way to go… back up! Ouch! BUT… married to a Greek, I think a hairy baby is definitely on the cards! I was actually born with thick black hair much to both my parents shock… and then it fell out and white blonde hair sprouted out! I cannot wait to see what this little guy is going to look like, since Sox and I have such different colouring! It really is so nice to hear from you! Big loves xxxxx
